• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Noobie saying hello

touring model

Roaddog my future dealer told me they are going down for that meeting for the unvailing type thing for dealers. also said they would know more on what they are getting around mid september. Iknow you guys have a great dealership to deal with in CT. Garganos met him at the bike show in hartford i believe. :2thumbs: i would buy from him but it's a little to far maybe about 2hrs.

From the description of your accident, it may have had a different outcome if you had been on a Spyder. While Spyder brakes aren't the best, the ABS and fact that you can't tip over makes emergency stops much easier. Time will tell, but Spyder certainly rides and feels safer than two wheels.

Hi there, Gimpy Girl. Sorry to hear about your injury; heal soon.

I can relate to your thoughts. At age 10, I had an ugly bicycle accident that left a hole in my left leg, just above the inner ankle. Since then, I've been phobic about any machine that leaned to turn. (Bike, motor scooter or cycle.) :gaah: I'm now 67, with a bum lower spine.

Thus, the first time I saw a Spyder in my local dealer...I said "AT LAST!" When I rode mine home, I was grinning like an insane chipmunk. I opted for a Millenium Yellow SE5....and have now started adding aftermarket goodies.

Since I'd not owned a motorcycle before, I had no problems with the learning curve. For experienced bikers...there IS a learning curve, but not a difficult one. The more you ride, the faster you adapt.

I hope you join us...the Spyder World is a rip-snorter.:2thumbs:

You all have been great with the info on the Spyder! Thanks to everyone for getting me psyched to hurry up and own one! I know I'll end up getting one, they are just too cool to not have one in the garage next to my bike.;) I'll most likely end up buying a used one, and can't wait to get back on the road again!

Hi Gimpy Girl,
Just had to find your post and wave hello. Hope you are healing well. When will you be out of the cast?

We have much in common. I fell and broke my leg on 6/27 and was in an air boot for 8 weeks. I was also on a Harley, a '03 Heritage Softail Classic. My street is a private road that's barely paved, potholed, graveled in spots... a mess. That morning the road was wet and when I had to come to a sharply uphill stop at a stop sign, my foot slipped in the wet gravel and over I went.

The fact that I live on this treacherous street that I can't avoid and is not going to get patched or paved, plus the fact that I now have weakness and pain in my right foot and leg, when I turn my foot in or point my toe down, were my main deciding factors in getting a Spyder. It wasn't an easy decision, I really agonized over it. I loved riding my bike, and I was afraid this wouldn't be as fun, that it would feel about like riding an ATV, which any biker knows is not the same feeling at all. But I was wrong. It's a lot of fun, I love it and have no regrets at all.

It's even more fun with the fear of falling removed. I've only been back on a bike 2 weeks now. I'm just so glad to be back out there.

I have a 2008 spyder all tricked out. The new 2010 are out and they make my 08 obsolete My advice to you is get the new RT-S. Has radio, electric cruise control Much better seat. BRP took notice on our changes. They were losing a lot of money because we had to buy all after market stuff. I am really thinking about getting one in the color blue. New colors are silver, blue, black. Go to BRP web site and check it out. :chat:
