Nolan Helmets

Just wondering if any one has had any experience with the Nolan N21 series helmet with the pull down sun shield and the full clear shield. Curious if the sun shield vibrates at highway speed when the main shield is up.

Thanks any info would be good.

I use a Caberg, I found that if I ride with the sun visor down and the clear visor up, every insect and bit of dirt found it's way into my eye.

Both my wife and I have the Nolans with the drop down sun visor on the outside. They work well and you can keep the large clear shield up partway when you want more air. Mine fits well over my glasses. Hope this helps. Bob

I know you asked for info on Nolen. Since not many replies. Figured I would give my 4cents. Since you are looking at the higher end helmet price. My wife and I love our Schuberth pro 3 helmets, the drop down sunshades work great here in AZ. The front full clear opens in different adjustments so at slow speads can crack for more cooling.. when We tried them on they were tight sales person checked it out and had us buy ones a little tight he said would mold to us. They hurt for the first3 long rides and now fit like a glove.
Helmets are rated as quitest, lightest, coolest best venting . I also find them very air-odimic wether looking forward or side ways no presure on the neck.
Hope you like what ever you decied on, I think helmets can make it a cadilac ride or noisey, hot, miserable ride. Kenn

I am probably one of Nolan's best customers. Have four that I use regularly and two older ones on the shelf. Have one active 100 series and three active 40 series. All have the inner visor shield.

I mostly ride with the face shield down but when in town or at idle, the face shield goes up. The inner visor does not vibrate when ridden at speeds under 30 mph. More than that, and its visor down.

Should be similar on the 20 series.

I own an N-43 Trilogy and an N-91. Both have the inner flip up/down sunshields. As said previously, if you ryde with outer shield up, the bugs end up on the inner and it's not the easiest to clean. I've never had either the inner or outer shield vibrate at any speed. I love em. [emoji106]

Nolan N43

My wife and I have Nolan N43 Trilogys. My wife uses both shields. No vibration on either and always clear. They are quiet and comfortable. I've not had any other experience with higher end helmets but no complaints from either of us on these.

I, too, us the Nolan 43E Trilogy with the pull down shades. And I agree with the others: shield up = lots of bugs in the face

PROS
Shades fit over my glasses
Shades are easy to pull down and up
Great side visibility

CONS
When the sun is low in the sky I wish the shades were a bit darker
The bottom of the shield fogs up a bit when I'm at a light, but this won't be an issue with the N21

Thanks for all the great info. My wife and I drove to the Dennis Kirk store yesterday and were able to try on several different helmets and we decided on the N21 for her and I got the N40 for me. They both have the drop down sun shield and clear outside shield. Hopefully going to try them out today.:2thumbs::2thumbs:

Just saw this

I've got the N104 awesome helmet no vibrations with the sun shade down even at 45mpg

No experience with that model. Butt! Nolan is right up there with Corbin when it comes to customer service. They have none. Even when their rep approved that there was a problem! And authorized a return to them. :cus: Tom :spyder:

I have an Nolan N-44 N-com. No vibration problems of any kind.

I also really like the convertible feature of it .... Full face to 3/4 just by snapping off the chin-bar.

When in 3/4 mode, I usually just use the sunshield, but the longer outer shield is great in the rain.

Sorry you've had issues with Nolan's CS folks. I've used Nolan helmets for many, many years, and have had occasion to contact CS. They have always been courteous, helpful and quickly resolved the problem.
