Seems to appear quite often with my posts.

:roflblack: :2thumbs: I'm giving it a crack. But seem to be scoring 1/10 for punctuation it seems . :gaah:
Cheers Peter
You're doing alright, at least you try!! It's just that all the 'text to talk' software I've tried/used really doesn't like things like a lower case 'i' instead of an upper case 'I'; odd or weird spelling (cos then it pronounces the individual letter/syllable phonetics, & not the word!

); sentences that don't end; multiple spaces in the middle of a sentence; no spaces between words or after full-stops; or even spaces after words & before punctuation... Things like the '
...it seems .' that I've highlighted in your post above - that comes out as '... it seems' followed by a deathly pause, longer than the usual end of a sentence - then the word 'period'.... And if there's another sentence or line of text starting after it (ie. Cheers Peter) then there's an
even longer deathly pause before it starts reading on! :banghead:
And those bloody predictive text and spell-checkers that have no idea don't help either!! For example, one that gets me
every time is how they 'correct' the emoji

to the word 'trolleys' - can you guess how odd that sounds out of the blue?? While they're easy enough to 'see' & make sense of, can you imagine how confusing it becomes when just about every emoji gets messed up in some way?! :gaah:
While just one of those or something similar in a post isn't
too difficult to understand when you're listening not actually reading, like your 'it seems .' above, once there's a few of them in any post things can rapidly become quite confusing, especially if
ALL you can do is listen!! At least I can still come back and open the post to actually read it, but others aren't so lucky! Hence the efforts to make those posts with potentially confusing features just a little more 'machine readable', even if sometimes I do just grab the first 'edit reason' instead of spelling it out exactly...
But please, don't take it personally or even as a critique if what you've posted, it's more of an effort to make the Forum useable by
everyone who wants to 'read' it, and not just those lucky enough to be able to do that without their viewing capabilities adding a whole 'nuther layer of complexity & confusion.
Ps: just check out the bottom of my posts too - the number of times I go back to clarify things that I've stuffed up or that might
look OK but just don't come out
sounding right isn't funny - but it makes it pretty clear to me that
you aren't anywhere near the worst offender.... And yes, the bolding and italics etc
does make a difference to how things get read, even by machines.
