• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

No Start on SE5

Wife left the Spyder in gear (SE5) and I tried to start with the procedure out of the manual (must put foot on brake). All it did was click and go through the instrument and light sequence. I then figured I would put it in N with the 13 mm wrench. The instruments indicated N; so, I tried again. Still just a click and re-sweep of the instruments and flash of all lights. By the way, I did push the M button before trying to start. I am wondering if it might be a weak battery? I am trying to charge right now. Any suggestions out there?

This is a long shot but make sure your break lights are lighting up when you press the break pedal.
the reason I say this is the switch that requires you to be on the break to start the spyder is an electrical signal and not a mechanical one. We had a shorted wire that blew a fuse affecting the break lights and thus the spyder was not recognizing us pressing the break and because of this it would not allow the bike to start.
Like I said its a long shot and good luck.
so your running lights may work but the break lights may not activated. Let us now if you get it sorted.

No start

I am sure it is the battery. If you hear a click then the battery does not have enough juice to engage the starter. If you do not hear anything the check the kill switch. Easy to forget to put that in the run mode. Good luck with the battery charging.

I would also check the battery connections and the groung wire to the frame also all fuses or as stated the battery may be to low to start.
The DPS sucks lots of juice and you may have 11v to low to start.

Thanks to those of you that replied. After charging the battery for about an hour, tried the bike again and it started. Looks like it was a low battery. Checked the battery terminals, cleaned and sanded them and re-tightended. With everything connected and the charger on for a short time, I tried to start the Spyder again and all it did was crank about half a turn. Looks like I should get a new battery.
