• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

No SITA this year

Just got this email

We know that many have been waiting for details on our Spyders In The Adirondacks event for 2013. Well, we've decided to take a year off. We've been running events for five years now. We have had a lot of fun, met a lot of great people, seen some great areas of this country, but after all these years of planning events that we don't even get to ride to, we've decided to take a break this year. We're not saying we are out of the Spyder Event business...and who knows...we may plan an impromptu fall foliage ride, but for 2013 we won't be running Spyders In The Adirondacks.

Sad news..!!

Sorry to hear that. I kept hearing and seeing inquires about it. Your always welcome at SITR (spyders in the redwoods) will be in Sonora California.. :ohyea:

Although I am going to miss the event and the people that come to visit in my great state, I sure won,t miss the lack of organization these 2 guys where capable off. Time for somebody else to pick it up.

No SITA

Boo hoo!:banghead: lthough the weather did stink last year, there were some real great people from all over including Canada and a few from as far away as Florida who really enjoyed the event. Roberts Motor Sports of Malone and Saranac did a great job as the local dealer. Certainly looked forward to a repeat and to make the 2013 event better. But... will have to locate another event somewhere in NY or Northern PA.

For those ryding to Americade, we can have a good time there too:clap:. Hope to see a great number of Spyders there to enjoy the Adirondacks and western VT. Ryde on all, Ryde on:bowdown::bowdown::)

We are certainly disappointed. There focus has never really been on Spyders anyways-- realy their other sleds website they run. We NEED a great Spyder event in the Northeast. we loved riding in the Adirondacks for the last two years, meeting up with everyone, etc..

:agree: I couldn't agree more !!!!!! Even though the event itself wasn't the greatest, I looked forward to being around my fellow Spyder friends. We had some great times there and this news is sad to hear.

That's a shame!

Judy and I were planning a trip around this one. Was looking forward to RVing with arntufun and the others that attended.
:gaah:. Now what are we going to do? Just my luck:banghead:

It's too bad that it's being cancelled for 2013... :gaah:
Perhaps somebody else can pick up the slack?
A ride that is timed to coincide with the Fall Colors might be nice...

There's no reason one of our own can pick it up and run with it. Setup a meeting place and hotel, pick a date and post it here. Start small and see where it goes. You guys have my vote

SPYDERQUEST 2013 does have a nice ring to it !!!!!!!!!

If others are serious about this, I'd be glad to help put something together. I'm just so upset at them right now I just might do it anyway even if I'm the only one that shows up !!!!! :roflblack:

There certainly where enough people there to justify it. Who ever runs with this needs to get the town involved. While I was there last year and talking with hotel staff and store keepers no one knew what was going on with all these funny looking bikes. Most if not all said they would like to get involved, reserve rooms special rates etc, welcome spyders, be involved in any events.

SITA was so much fun but it was disorganized, I can not organize my sock draw so I can not offer anything other than support and I'm wiling to pitch in time and effort.

We need some one like pitbull who as experance in what it takes to run one of these event to chime in. Pitbull you've got nothing going on at the moment apart moving, opening up a new dealership and running spyderfest, can you squeeze in a North East event. :roflblack:

Does sound nice, but the Quebecians would think it says Spyder West.
No time for me for a summer event, perhaps in the fall. Also mike, americade is known for the largest touring event in the country. Years ago though it was an aspencade event that turned into a goldwing thing, but not for a long time. Mostly bagger bikes now.
