• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

After retirement, I supplemented my income by doing two 12 hour shifts on the weekends. It took me a full 2 days to get back to a normal routine so effectively I was spent for 4 days. Then I had 3 good days and it started all over again. My job was not mentally or physically taxing. But the irregular routine was upsetting. I was in my mid 60s and way too old to be happy. I lasted a year but will not try that again..... It's to your favor to look for a job when you don't "need" one. Just like a boyfriend (girlfriend)..... don't get rid of the old one until you have a new and better one...... best of luck to you..... Jim
I am going to keep my current job until I find a job that I like, at least I still have a paycheck coming in.

It’s a good decision Deanna. At this point even if my body could pull 12 hours I know mentally I wouldn’t want it. Best way to explain it to new employer is to give the current one a months notice if possible and tell the new employer that rather than impact the old company by staying on you realized the job fit wasn’t right and left ASAP to create minimal impact.

Either way you can’t stay, it will take too much of a toll. Just my .02c worth.
After pulling( 3days or 4days )of 12 hours shifts it take me a 2 days to catch up on my sleep, and other things. thanks for your .02c worth.

At my last job, I was spoiled because of my $$ that I took home, and the benefits, and the Combined Time Off( I was at the max level).

How can anyone make a living on low hourly rate jobs, I can see why people work 2 or 3 jobs just to make ends meet.
I work in a manufacturing field.

I am looking for an other job, but for now I am keeping my current job, until I find a better job,and pays more money.

So it looks like I wont be buying any new farkles for awhile.

Please try to conserve the 26 week separation package you got in Jan.

It's not often in life you get a large amount of $, so please guard it well.

Well, I am not working the 12 hour shift job any more, because of the 12 hours shifts, they took a toll on me, ( mentally, physically).

So I have a interview tomorrow at a different job, the hours are 2nd shift nights. I am getting older, and listening to my body.

I don't how the younger/or older workers work the 12 hours shifts.

When I worked the 12 hours shifts (weekends) I was mentally, physically drained.

And it also would have token a toll on my relationship. I didn't wont that.

I don't blame you at all, D. You need to take care of yourself. Hang in there!

Temp employees are the way many, many, companies go at it these days. Good way to find out if an employee is going to work out and minimal complications in letting them go if it doesn't. My son and grandson were in temp positions upwards of one or two years before being hired directly. Good for the company. Often not good for the employee.

I did 12 hours 4 days a week an 4 days off for 20 years. Worked all the overtime I could. I loved it. Retired 7 years ago with a very nice pension.

HI, I know how the "temp agency's work with the company's.

So when I started at my previous employer,( 20 years ago) I started full time, and I didn't go thru any temp agency. Also if the a company has a lay-off/or closes there doors the temps are the first people to be let go.
