There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. No Neutral on 2021 F3S - anyone else had this problem?

Good evening everyone. We just bought our 3rd Spyder, a 2021 F3S that has been on the showroom floor for 3 years. There's less than 3000km on it. BUT, I have a question. When stopping to park it, usually it's just a matter of pressing the back paddle to go to neutral and then engaging the P to park it. Now it won't go into Neutral. If I press the back paddle, it goes automatically to R without having to press the R on the top button. It by-passes the N altogether. The only way to go to Neutral is to turn it off and then restart it. Then it goes to Neutral. Is the assembly defective? Has anyone else encountered this issue?? It's very annoying.

Thanks guys.

Daniel.

The transmission should NOT be able to go into reverse without pressing the reverse button to operate reverse actuator. Look for any damage to the reverse actuator or mounting plate to see if the arm is not returning all the way forward. Sorry, but that's all I can think of.

There's a good chance that it's not actually 'GOING' into Reverse, have you tried it to see if it will actually back up?? I'd think it more likely that it's just 'SHOWING' that it's in Reverse when it isn't really. :cautious:

Still, if it's by-passing Neutral in any way when you press the ' - ' paddle, so that it's showing Reverse; then instead of shutting everything down and starting again, have you tried a quick, short push on the ' + ' button once it hits Reverse to see if it'll go back into Neutral or even back into first??

You should be able to select Neutral by going DOWN from First &/or UP from Reverse, so if it won't do that either, then maybe it could be that your Reverse Actuator is bent or damaged?!

Over to you. ;)

I had trouble shifting into neutral when I first got my 2014 RSS. Turns out I was holding the downshift lever too long. I need to give it a very quick flick to select neutral.

I did try. It goes to reverse and starts moving backward as if I press the top button and down paddle. If you park it and shut it down, when restarting it will go to neutral. I start it and go forward and stop, it will go to neutral for like 1 minute. If I go down the road, it won't go to neutral. It's very weird.
