• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

No music out on 665

On my Zumo 660

There is an option I think in Bluetooth to select the output to Bluetooth or to Headset

I Can listern to music via Bluetooth No audio out to Speakers or if I select Hedset my lead to plugged from the Zumo Audio Headset out
via 3.5mm lead into the Connection in the Rear Trunk on my Spyder RTS - Music is then feed to the Speakers on the RT

The only other thing I can think of is - Could the Speakers be muted in the Cluster display via the Audio mode
I am sure you have tried this anyway

Hope you get is sorted and if so Post a solution for other who may have this issue

Thanks

You may try disabling bluetooth and see if it will play. Also, my sat radio in my f150 has a simular issue when it is turned on, and the signal is not strong. Very common when the truck is started under covered parking. Sat shows great signal, but no sound until the radio is turned off and back on.

Next, you could load a mp3 on the 665 and see if it plays through the RT...just a thought. If it will play the mp3, I would think it is a problem with the XM part in the zumo.

I have the 660, so no experiance with the XM radio on the 665.

FYI there is a different part number for the 665. The one on the left is the 660 and the one on the right is the 665

Glad you got it working for you, but still think there's something not right. Master Volume Control shouldn't have to be set to 100% to get a signal. If you're inclined to pursue it further, you might contact Garmin about it.

I agree but I'm wore out and it is working even though it's not working the way I think it should work. how about you call them for me and be my advocate :joke:

I was wondering how this was going to work with the ipod plugged in at the same time. How it works is the ipod is the default aux and when you hit "media" on the gps it takes over the ipod, you just hit "source" once and then it goes back to the ipod. :doorag:

Will the 665 work in the same Zumo mount that is on the RT Limited? If so, can you receive XM radio through it?

No, the 660 harness is different. The antenna jack on the 660 will only work with the XM Traffic antenna, it will not work with the XM Radio antenna. You have to switch out the GPS harness.

So here's my latest issue. The XM was working fine with a few channels and the weather. I didn't pay for what I was getting so I guess it was just some sort of temp service to get you to buy into it. That's fine because I had planned of signing up again anyway.

So while playing with the 665 I enabled the bluetooth feature and paired it up with my phone just so I could see who was calling on the gps, not to take a call while driving. Decided that was a waste of time so I disconnected the phone from the gps. What I didn't do is turn off the bluetooth on the gps. So I call XM and got a plan going and when I went to use the XM is was a real weak signal and I never could lock into anything but channel 1. That was strange because it was working just fine before and I even had a strong signal in the garage.

So now I can't use what I paid for and I knew it had to be something I changed on my end. I checked the master volume control and it was all the way up and that's when I noticed I still had bluetooth enabled. Soon as I turned that off I got a full signal and all my channels came up along with the weather. So now I just leave it off but it's strange that this happened but to be honest I don't have the time to fool with it seeing I won't be using it anyway. Just thought I would share that with you guys. :dontknow:

Got this from Steve and it's from the Garmin support page. Looks like my mount may be the issue as it's right behind the gps :banghead:
"The GXM 40 antenna should be mounted at a minimum of 10 cm away from the zumo 665. An ideal distance would be at least 30 cm between the devices. If the GXM 40 is mounted closer to the zumo then you may experience interference that can interrupt the XM signal."
