• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

No music out on 665

I got my XM with weather to kick in and I can hear it fine through the gps speaker if I don't plug it in to the RT's harness. I don't have any music playing but I can hear map commands loud and clear. I have it set to AUX and have it playing through the external speakers but still no music. So what am I doing wrong here? :opps::helpsmilie:

wow

i've never heard you ask us a technical question before. somebody better take your temperature. :yikes:

look @ the seperate volume settings for the music and the voice instructions. The music volume could be muted.

:agree: This would be my first guess. On my Zumo 50, there is a page where you have separate volume controls for Navigation, XM & Phone. Take a look there.

go to media player and press the channel up & down as well as volume up & down and mute buttons. I find sometimes I have to press one of those buttons to activate the radio

With the harness disconnected u should be able to hear the music through the gps speaker. If u do , then the problem is in the Spyder or harness

Your not trying XM Music while inside your garage, right?

Not trying to insult your intellegence here, but thought I'd ask just to be clear. On our 665, we can't pick up the satelites for music while in our garage, so no reception, hense no sound. Doubt this is your issue, just trying to help tho.

Our 1st Zumo (which was a refurbished unit) ended up still being faulty. After we had it about a month, started having numerous issues with it. Called Garmin, did the Updates like they suggested, & when that still didn't work, had to send them our original unit for another refurbished replacement unit & ever since we got this one, its worked like a charm. Could be that your unit may be faulty as well :dontknow: Wish I had a solid answer for you :banghead:

Sound like you've eliminated the RT harness & the RT itself. Can you test the output on another vehicle to see if the problem persists? If it does, the next call might be to Garmin Support, because it may be that the audio out is only working for the navigation.

I don't know what's up with this but for now I may just not connect it to the RT audio and use the 3.5 jack for the earbuds because that works fine.

If the "Media" volume on the 665 is turned up like you said and we know it is not the harness - because we can hear nav info thru the bike speakers - I'm starting to think it might just be an internal issue with the media output side of the 665.

Can you hear other media on the 665 (ie. saved music files or an audio book) with the audio adapter plugged in?
