• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

No more sun glare on phone/maps

If you know anyone with a 3d printer it is pretty easy to design a sunshade for your phone. The best part is since you are designing it from scratch you can make it whatever size you want and even make it like I did where you can keep your case on. My case is has magnets in it, and attaches to an all in one phone/wallet. So I used 2 magnets in the back to hold the case on (yes I checked the magnets are safe.) Then the only thing to do is make a hole for your charging cable if you have one (I ran mine from the frunk) and attach the visor to your X-grip. I did have a little wobble (the dash mount I have never seemed stable) but bending it down so it sits tight on the dash gets rid of that!
Any questions you have I will gladly answer, this can be such a big help. I ran into 2 detours last week and could not see my map because of the bright sun and felt pretty helpless until I made it to a gas station and went inside just to see my phone!
Sorry the picture order got switched on upload, but the first 2 pics and the last pic is the longer extension, and the middle pics are the shorter one. I have a 2018 RTL but I'm sure this can be universal for any bike.

Sun House for Cell Phone

:ohyea: .......Very Nice. How much time and Cost do you think was involved? ......

I designed it myself, so about a half an hour for the design, and as far as the printing it is a slow process - it took about 12 hours but I only used a few dollars in material. The only other cost would be how you attach your phone to the visor.
I already had the dash mount and the X-grip with extensions, I bought those through vendors here and the total was about $100.

I don't really see your point? You will still need a way to mount it, which is where the majority of my cost came from (although I already had the dash mount.)
There was a discussion a while back about visors like this for phones, and a big problem was they didn't work if you wanted to keep your phone in the case - which is not a problem with a Zumo. With a 3d printer you can also make the exact dimensions you want, for instance the "visor" on your Amazon link shows less than 3 inches of overhang on top - pretty useless when the sun is right behind you! If you looked at mine it has more than twice that and side protection also.

I guess I'm not seeing a mounting issue. This device is rested against the front of the GPS. It does not wrap around the sides. The elastic bands would work just fine with the RAM x-mount, as the arms would not be interfered with. Just an option for those who don't have access to a 3D printer I guess...

There was actually a thread a few months ago about this, I even recommended a visor from Amazon myself://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/showthread.php?141928-Smart-Phone-as-GPS-for-Spyder
There were some people who had problems with universal visors because they had a case on their phone. That is why I came up with an alternate solution.
