No gears

We have got a NEW 2012 RT limited an we didnt even make it home. We stoped at a stop light when it turned geen i gave it gas an nuthing! we pushed it off the road i looked it over sat for a bit tried it again an nuthing?? it doesnt clunk into gear but says i am n gear .it is an SE5. An the closest dealer looked at it when we droped it off 200.00 later for a tow an said he had never seen anythang like it?an its a new bike with only 298 miles on it??? an i was not happy with the dealer cause he was upset i didnt get it from him.an now 4 days later i call an they say they mite get to it in a week maybe 2 NOT HAPPY!!!

Why didn't you bring it back to the selling dealer, I would think they would be more interested in fixing it right away. :dontknow:
I realize it's not right to take so long to look at it, But sometimes you have to take care your own costumers first.

Sounds like the linkage came loose from the shaft. Easy enough to check from under the bike.

Why did you not call your dealer where you purschased the spyder? This doesn't make good since that you haven't gotten it back to the selling dealer. Call them and have them pick it up from where it is now. Also, with a major purchase, most states have a 72 hour window to give it back to them. Not sure if this applies to spyders or not.

Well id like to take it take to the dealer i got it from but they r out of state an 350 miles away. i saved over 5000 an i paid for it n cash it was worth the 350 mile drive to save the money. an the dealer i took it to was rude about it cause we did go to him first an i told him i paid a lot less then he would sell 1 to me for and i told him he would b who i would take it to for all my service but he acted like he had plenty of money an didnt need my bizz. He could have told me it would take up to 2 weeks to look at it i only seen a few bikes there i could b wrong. it will depend on how i get treated when i go back as to if i ever go back there. there are other dealers about the same distence from me they r all about 100 miles.an the dealer i got it from was NO help eather not happy with any dealer yet i hope that changes soon.

OK went to the dealer to check the linkage an NOT the prob they were helpfull they pushed it in the shop to help me check it. It goes n gear an moves just a bit but not enuff to move but a few inches. they think the clutch if fried on it only has 298 miles on it????? Not happy with the bike an the dealer we purshased the bike from i an checking the laws to see if i can just get my money back!!! Broke down the day after we got it an ONLY 298 miles on it we didnt even make it home. Any ideas an maybe how long i have to return it??? I would take a nuther NEW bike??

Well we checked the linkage an it was good an tight. they r thinking clutch fried an only 289 miles an 260 on the HWY we didnt even make it home b4 it broke.

Sounds like a bad dealer set-up to me. Another argument for purchasing from a dealer with a good reputation for mechanical skills as well as good customer service. IMO: The lowest price is not always the best price.

Please let us know how this all works out. It is a very bad situation when you make a purchase and don't even get home with it before something major happens.

Is Spyder RT SE5 Oil level Low? Low oil level will cause problems with SE5 shifting.

Oil is full an right on. taking it to a nuther dealer 2day. i will never b back to Jones power sports in jones,ok ever an wouldnt want anybody to go there !

FIXED

Well the vale solenoid assy was keeping the clutch disengaged?? warranty fix an it is home after the purchase on the 19th of oct hope it stays here an not the shop.all is good an well with my new RT limited THX for all the replys this site has tought me so much THX :read::cheers:
