• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

No Brake lights

Just the High Mount brake light is working when the spyder is running. the saddle bag back red lights light up and look like they are on bright. and do not respond to the brake pedal.
the turn signals seem to work correctly
when all is off (key off) and I apply the brake the high mount comes on and so do the saddlebag brake lights.
I have a trailer module from can am installed by the dealer.
I am thinking since the High mount light functions the trailer module is bad.

how hard is this to swap for the show chrome model?
 
after removing the y cable and putting the 2 end back together (removing the trailer) the problem stays,. brake light on all the time and the problem now moves up to the high mount light as well, no brake light function.
the dealer can not get me in till......next tuesday.
 
So that proves that the trailer harness is not the culpert. From your first description I did not think it was. Somewhere the brake lights and running light circuits are connected together. Find that and the problem will be solved.
 
Called dealer, there is some module in the harness that is causing this. Service manager think they will solve it while i wait. too far to leave it no ryde home.
So no brake lights for the 4th weekend:banghead::(
 
I will have to find a shop manual, as he refereed to a in the harness module. i just came in from doing some tests.
I removed the back off xp. High mount works as expected no brake from lower
remove the trailer Y and no function from the lowers just the high mount.
it would appear that the fault is from this point to the lowers
this failed after 1200 miles and about 300 with a trailer, hooked trail up to suv all Leds function as normal.
 
In light of the fact that this failed 1200 miles after any install. I'd discount a wiring as it would appear something has "failed". Some module would be a suspect, but if part of the run circuit has shorted to the brakes lights, that could do it too. I'd start pulling plugs until it stops.
 
For PMK this was an existing failure, sorry about my short hand

I found the bug in the works.
I followed advice and just started taking the Tupperware off in the back till i got to the lights and the connectors
The high mount brake/running/turn light has a dual convertor wire harness 2 wires into one, it was bad and caused the trouble
the brake wire diode let the voltage through

fortunate for me i have extra parts from other installs on older motorcycles and wala spyder all back together and brake lights working perfectly
