Don't get me started on local dealers for service !!! I love my Spyder but my local dealer delebratly makes the Spyder service experience horrible. This is what they do at my closest dealer here in NY. Keep in mind my dealer was forced to sell the Spyder because the sell Ski Doos and Sea Doos. You walk in the showroom and they only have two Spyders. An RT and a RS. These two mistreated machines are located (on the island of misfit toys) in a dark corner of the showroom with one tiny Spyder sign and don't even bother to look for any Spyder apparel because they have none. But they do have 150 types of Ski Doo coats and Sea Doo life vests. Ok now for the service.
They will not work on Spyders until the end of April because of snowmobiles (keep in mind there has been no snow for 3 weeks now) and stop working on them in Oct. to gear up for snowmobile season. This jips the NY Spyder rider out of at least 3 months of riding time (April, October, November). And possibly some parts of March and December. So if your Spyder needs service during these months your screwed. The snowmobiles are my dealers bread and butter so the Spyder takes a backseat to them. Even if BRP new of these dealer practices I'm sure nothing would get done about it because of the high volume of Ski Doo sales at this dealer. So yes, there are big differences between dealers in certain geographical locations. I envy alot of you people with good dealers/service dept. These practices at my dealer will not change until the Spyder outsells the Ski Doo and I dont forsee this happening anytime soon.
