• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Had a nice ride today. Weather was really nice. Low humidity, temps around 88. But the vibration above 65 was ridiculous. I'm glad it was only 100 miles. I had a headache when it was over. I do like my F3S but man I wish the vibration wasn't so bad.

Strange mine only vibrates at about 67 or 68 for a second as I move through this range. What windshield do you have? if you have a lot of head bobble, this could be why your head ached.
 
Bruiser - when you get your 3000 mi service, make sure they check the belt tension. Steve had talked with Len and Lamont at spyderfest about the vibration. They said to have the tension adjusted at that service. When we had our service done (F3 & RT) it was much better. The other thing that helped was installing BajaRons anti sway bar - we had that done on both of ours at spyderfest and we both noticed a difference in our rides on the way home with the belt vibration.

Yesterday we had a dinner visit with Wiredux (Dan) and his lovely wife Vickie. He and I were discussing the vibration issues. On the ride back to our house, Dan and I swapped F3s. We took them out on a local interstate and cranked them up. His F3 was much smoother than mine, and he verified what I was complaining about. So when I get the first service, I'll have them adjust the belt.

This is valuable information when you can compare 2 F3's performance at the same time
 
Yes, the compare test works well to check out issues. Hope your dealer can get is fixed when you bring in the F3.
 
In New Zealand our F3 has the same rear cog and belt as the RT and vibration is minimal and only a
matter of going a little faster or slower to sort it, I guess the problem is exaggerated a little due to the
bigger rear cog and belt on your F3.
I am loving mine, we rode around 310kms (almost 200 miles) on Saturday, and had a ball, and also did
it on less than a tank of gas. I didn't get it for its economy, but it is definitely a bonus when I get nearly
100kms more on a tank than I did from my ST

I wonder if the (North American) ECU would accept the 79 tooth rear pulley and the RT belt without throwing a fit?

If my math is correct that would be an 11.2% increase in gearing so 55 MPH would be 2857 RPM instead of 3219 RPM.

I could live with that.

Do either you or Dan have a Krickett gauge?
It might be interesting to lift both bikes, and not the differences in the readings that they generate.

When Cruising in 6th gear, just under 3000rpm and travelling at 100kph which is close to 60mph. My ST doing 100kph
was doing 4500rpm.

I have to agree with Colin. The European models have the same set up as the ones in NZ and the vibration problem really seems minimal at cruising speed.
Vibration gets noticable around 135-140 km/H and due to the fact that we don't have a general speed limit here it's rather simple to just drive a little slower or faster if the vibrations should be bothersome.
It really sucks that vibration hits US models right at highway speed...would drive me nuts as well 😭
