• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Nice ride tonight!

Weather cooled off, didn't go far but it was just nice to get out. Went to Starbucks, hung out w/ some folks down there. My girlfriend came by and she came a different way with another friend. So then when we were ready to leave she didn't know how to get back to the roads she was familiar with. I took her down this one road that had road construction. I forgot all about it and didn't realize they ripped up the entire road and it was about a mile of MESS.... dirt, ruts, holes, raised manholes, sewers, these huge metal plates. I felt bad! Had no idea it was that messed up. She wasn't thrilled. Now this girl is shorter than me and rides a Harley. I had NO worries on the Spyder :2thumbs:.

I felt bad so I rode w/ her for a while back onto main roads and then turned off and went home.

Maybe she'll shop for a Spyder now :roflblack: :roflblack::joke:

Nah, she's a Harley girl but she does like the Spyder. Everyone I ride with accepts and likes it. I still miss two wheels though - wish I had extra cash laying around so I could have the best of both worlds. But I didn't miss those two wheels on the nasty road tonight!

I had a similar experience about a month ago. I was by myself though. I was at work thinking about how I was going to ride home. So just before it was time to go I pulled up a map of the area and found this really cool looking windy road. I decided that was going to be the route.

So off I go, pretty excited about doing a new, different ride. When I got there it was this chunked out old lane-and-a half wide 2 lane road that looked like it hadn't been paved in 100 years! It was really nice country to look at but man, There were all forms of mayhem on this thing and I honestly lost track how many miles it went on untl I finally got to some decent pavement. Had I been on 2 wheels, I am not certain I would have done it unless I had a dual-purpose BMW or Ducati. The Spyder handled it with no trouble at all. As it was I gave the Spyder a full inspection when I got home and everything was fine.

Bottom line here is that these machines are not as fragile as people seem to make them out to be. I would not want to do that every day, but if you find yourself in unexpected rough it can go.

:agree:

I refer to those roads as "off the grid" of the GPS. Little gems.:D

Not much to worry about on a spyder when it comes to dirt roads. I run them everytime I'm out on the spyder.:2thumbs::2thumbs:

That's a great way to put it. That's just what this was. I was a bit nervous at first but after a while I just putted along and took in the countryside. It was very cool!!

Pearl RSS

It doesn't matter what kind of ride ya have, it matters if ya have a great time riding it. I myself have a Pearl RSS and am so looking forward to taking off tomorrow. My husband has one of the Phantom's and we are going to have a blast. Can't wait!!

Kathy:2thumbs: welcome

You, Sir, are a rider!! :doorag: I bet there is some great riding up there where you are. I think that's the beauty of this. My Wife and I have only scratched the surface of the adventures of riding. Especially doing it together, each on our own machines!
