• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Nice Night

Nice glass of wine, a moonlit clear sky, fire in the fire pit, 37F. Watching the gray fox, the little Irish fellow Mr. O'ppossum coming to eat the outdoor cat's food. What could be better.

I know the feeling. I did the same exact thing last night. Only difference is that it was 55 degrees, which is quite chilly for S. Florida.

:agree: You've gotta do whet you've gotta do...
They are kind of cute... in a very ugly sort of way!
Maybe a couple of nice possum fur trapper's hats could be fashioned out of the hides!

Where in the world is Roger's possums???

We set up a trap camera in the back yard. It's amazing what goes on at o dark thirty. Have to admit though that they all (fox, possums, coons and cats) play well together. Don't need a permit here to hunt, trap or transport them. Of course here in NC we call them speed bumps or flossums (flat possums). Don't want to mess with them too much though, they can tear up a hand and arm pretty darn quick. Ever eat possum?? I have, Not real fond of it but not too bad.

With enough Ketchup and bacon; it ain't bad!
But then Ketchup and bacon can even improve a fried moose turd to the point where you'd consider.... :barf: well maybe not! :roflblack:

Actually a generous application of Texas Pete would work for me. When Bruisersbaby and I had a band we played at a few wildlife dinners on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. They served venison, duck, goose, squirrel, rabbit, bear and muskrat. We also played at some of the local Moose Lodges. My favorite meal served there was spaghetti and oysters. I'd get a dozen raw, a dozen steamed and a bowl of oyster stew :ohyea: Didn't have room for the spaghetti. I envision a new thread- What's the weirdest thing you've eaten?

HEY ROGER...............

If you keep this up with the number of critters you have trapped you could have a "nice" fur coat made for Mrs. Roger! :roflblack: Maybe next years Christmas present? :dontknow:

 I feel your pain for that one...
Christmas, '83 is still known as the Crock-Pot Debacle... :yikes:
I had to even up the next year with a Buick...

Yeah Mr. Oppossum.
Last year we started noticing that the barn cats were eating a lot of food.
A lot of food.

We set up a live trap.
Mr. Oppossum#1. Trapped.
Mr. Oppossum#2. Trapped.
Mr. Oppossum#3. Trapped.

At this point I started to paint their backs because I was convinced it was the same one.
It wasn't.

Mr. Oppossum#4. Trapped.
We told our neighbor.

"What are you doing with them?" he asked.
"Oh I'm taking them down on the bottom road and letting them go." I said.
The bottom road is a 9 mile unpopulated swamp road.
"In your truck?"
I couldn't for the life of me imagine why he was asking that.
"Yes" I answered.
"It's illegal to transport wild animals" he said.
"But I just took them down and let them go." I said.
"Doesn't matter, my son was fined $500 for doing that very same thing." he replied.
"Do I shoot 'em?"
"No, not without a permit."
"Do I build a 'Possum House and keep them as pets?"
"No, can't do that."

Mr. Oppossum#5. Trapped.
Mr. Oppossum#6. Trapped.
Mr. Oppossum#7. Trapped.
Mr. Oppossum#8. Trapped.

What did I do with them?
I can't say, for security reasons you understand.
Suffice it to say that they are in the Rodent Relocation Program.
... about 150 feet away from the local Game Warden's house ...

just kidding.

they make a spray for that...it comes in 12 and 20 gauge
