• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

NHTSA investigation update

Came back home after 2 week vacation and opened garage door to strong fuel smell. Have not ridden in 3 weeks why would gas smell be so strong? Anyone had this strong smell this long after being non ridden? Gas cap is tight. Had to air out garage be still lingering smell.

It might be an issue as far as the 998 is concerned , and BRP might not want to go through the trouble of proving it was a combination of the BODY + ENGINE + EXHAUST . So with the 1330 Ace in two models now anything with the 998 may just be eliminated............................JMHO.....Mike [/COLOR]
I think that's pretty much a "given". My dealer told me that it was announced at the recent dealer meeting in New England, that the F3 is intended to be an "evolution model". He says that all future models will eventually be based on the F3 features - specifically the lighter tubular frame, the high gas tank, and the 1330 engine. I think the possible exception may be the RT, as it has already successfully transitioned to the 1330 engine.

However, that doesn't mean that they will stop supporting current models with 998 engines. To do that would seem a far stretch, IMO, even in light of the current problems.

I hope this investigation does do some good for those that are still driving the 2013rt. I did have BRP install the heat kit on my 2013rts. In some case it did do some good but in the over all it did not satisfy me or the wife as far as the heat or the gas smell. Many of you know I did trade in my 2013rts for a 2014 rts. We are much happier with the 14rts. Yes I did take a beating on the trade in. The issue I have is if there was no heat or gas problems and I wanted to trade up a newer model would I have taken the same beating? The other issue is were the 2013rt and rts truly being run through their paces before being released?

Heat Kit??

Scarecrow, can you please advise about the "heat kit" that BRP installed on your 13 RTS per your message above? I've never heard of that, or seen it mentioned before ... unless you are talking about the November 2013 recall where they wrapped the master cylinder and the evap canister with heat reflective foil.
