• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

NGK Iridium Sparkplugs

Has anyone replaced the stock plugs with these & what mileage? Was there any improvements noticed. I have a little over 7k and have noticed a decrease in Mileage the last 2 tanks:gaah:.

I'm odd man out on this one,:(
At about 11 thousand miles i put in the Iridium plugs after 12 hundred more miles i pulled the Iridium's out and tossed them, went back to stock. It seem to me that with the Iridium's the Spyder lost a little power at WOT. :dontknow:
[and yes i used the paste]

The only real advantage to iridiums is that they don't erode much as they age, so the gap stays pretty constant. That may result in less a little degradation in performance as time goes on, but the real advantage should just be longer plug life. I put some in my RTS, but I have not had time to evaluate them. I expect no difference. I have run them in my BMW for a few years, and they do last much longer, but it runs the same and the mileage has stayed the same.

I don't know, at 5 to 6 bucks more per plug if plug life is not SIGNIFICANTLY longer than a platimum plug these iridiums do not seem to deliver much ROI. I don't think I'll use them myself...

I'm using them. I like them. Can't say they made a huge difference except that my stock plugs (at 17k) were not performing well.

I think it starts a bit more quickly and my mileage is pretty good. But then it was good before when the stock plugs were running well.

Like mentioned before, the real advantage is peak performance over a longer period of time. Other plugs degrade more quickly. You don't necessarily notice it because it happens over time.

So stock plugs fade at 17K for arguments sake. Since installing the iridiums, how many miles do you have now? And what of the plug wires? Were they changed with the plugs?
