• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

My first thought about the Corbins...those will never fly....the black ones blend much better then the others..IMO. I'll never see those with the Bushtec on.

Good Job!

To each his own. I still don't like all the angles on those bags. They do look like they'll carry a lot.

Hey Nexus,

Are those Corbin saddle bags easy to install/remove? I'm kinda looking at getting something for trips, but really want it to be removeable.

If they are, could you snap a couple of pics of the Spyder with the bags removed with the mount/rack still attached? Of course, if its difficult to remove the bags, thats okay. :) You will have answered my question.

Thanks!

Jason

PS: I like what you've done with your Spyder!!

I have these bag too., an although there are only two bolts and two nuts holding them on. I would not say they are something you would want to remove and ride without once you have installed all the hardward

The reason is, the frame stays behind after the bags are taken off and does not look good all by itself without the bags. The frame is not easy or quick to remove, and inasmuch once the frames are on they're on.

So, yes you can take the bag itself off, but all the framework looks real out of place if you do.

Installation of the Corbin bags

A little information on the Installation of the Corbin bags

http://www.putfile.com/album/194477

I was really surprised on the installation they went on better than I anticipated.
The directions were pretty good their pictures could have been a little larger
than a 2 x 2 square I had to go find a magnifying glass to see more detail.
Took me about 2 1/2 hours to install them but that's where it got more difficult.

One side fitted perfectly snug tight fit a little less than a quarter inch gap but the
the other side was almost three quarters wide about a half-inch difference and
there isn't much room to move the brackets around its basically putting bolts in
holes that previously existed on the Spyder for things that were removed.

So it took another two hours and then some to take everything back apart slot the holes
enough so you could slide the brackets enough to compensate for the fit. I know of a
another person who had exactly the same problem.

I am satisfied with the end result but as others pointed out here earlier these are basically
permanent bags they can be taken off easily enough but they're awkward and heavy and really
not easy to move around or store. And like MM said whats underneath honestly is better covered up.

As far as the exhaust system I don't know about others because mine was custom and
I had to make new brackets for my mufflers and weld a stud on the bag frame for the support.
Luckily I did not have to re-bend any of the pipes which what I was concerned about when I
looked at these first.

For anybody looking at these bags I would suggest looking at them in person if possible
they are a bit unusual they do fit well after tweaking a little. The first time I saw them I did not
like them until I saw them first hand and again it is a lot of money. Like a lot of things they'll be
some people that will hate them some that will like him but I don't regret my decision and
unbelievable amount of storage space.

I hope soon someone will make a LED light  to fit inside
its like looking in a cave at night. ;)
