• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

There will be at least one Newfoundland Spyder at Spyderfest 2010 Magog!!

OK, guys…. I'M ALL BOOKED TO GO TO SPYDERFEST 2010 IN MAGOG, QUEBEC!! :2thumbs: Yep, I'll be making my way across Newfoundland, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, through Maine and into Quebec for July 29-August 1st. Just booked and confirmed nights at the Delta Shrebrooke !!!!!

This will be the longest trip, yet!! I'm looking forward to taking part in setting the Guinness World Record ( I think we can do it ), meeting other Spyder owners / Spyderlover members, and of course, the journey!!!!!

So… things to do and things to pack:
- Treads are getting low on the rear tire, so I have a new one waiting for me at the dealer for next week.

- Recently did an oil/filter change and that should be good until I get back.

- I have spare fuses and a relay already in the trunk.

- Need to asses and repack the stock tool kit with a few extras.

- Manual is in the trunk with the BRP road-side assistance number, and I'll be loading Spyder dealer POIs in my GPS for the trip.

- Need to check under the panels for a general look for things in order, and tighten bolts down.

- Just purchased and installed a Throttle Rocker (same as Cramp Buster).

I'm just reviewing the possible routes and starting to prepare. Anything I should consider before venturing out on this road trip?

Excitement mounts as the day to leave trickles closer!
THANKS and cheers from Newfoundland!

Wow! I love to see people get prepared ahead of time for a long trip like this....! All their ducks in a row and ready to go!

Lamont always tears into his ride just before we go. The longer the trip the more parts he takes off and the closer to 'Departure' he waits to do it.

Me, I just wait till the last minute to do all of this stuff. Like I'll be changing my oil at 3am the day of the trip!

That way, if anything goes wrong (and it always does) then I'm....Well, LATE!

And that's what Lamont appreciates so much about me!

Ahhh.... Friendship! It's a beautiful thing! :ohyea:

Thanks for the replies, guys!

Doc: thanks for the note - that's a great idea, as my CC will likely get some pretty good use along the way!

Ron: I try to pack pretty light. I don't have side bags for my Spyder, so everything I have/need for the week will be in the trunk. There is something to be said about minimalistic travels, right ;), I will not be skimping room for tools though.

I just hope I can get into the Dealer for a rear tire replacement before I go. The current one is pretty worn. I also have a new shield on the way in I hope to install myself this week (the BRP windshield). Looking forward to it.

Also my recently installed Throttle Rocker is working out nicely on my recent 100km test ride.

Cheers guys.
