• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

After talking myself into and out of buying for a few years, the plunge has been taken!

I have been lurking on Spyderlovers.com for about 5 months now, reading and learning as much as I could about Spyders, and I didn’t even have one yet! When I saw Optimus Prime listed his 2012 RT-S SE5 Orbital Blue for sale, I was seriously tempted! Half of my brain said “Go for it!”, the other half was saying “Don’t do it!”. I asked my wife to talk me out of it, and
she wasn’t any help at all!! :shemademe_smilie: She said she wanted to go ryde! LOL!

OP and I emailed and talked a few times over the last month and we made the trip to Tennessee this past Monday. He has taken great care of this Spyder! I really like the Orbital Blue and the Comfort seat, and the bike is in such great condition.
Our thanks to OP and his wife for allowing us to purchase their Spyder RT. We had a wonderful visit and feel that we have made new friends. Looking forward to warm weather; great rydes; and meeting some of you on the road.

You know, Maggie Valley is only about 3 hours away from Southern KY . Hmmmmm…………As Spock said, there are always possibilities.

Congrats and:welcome:now get that damn thing off the trailer and ryde! WARNING! Do not let your wife Drive! It gets very expensive when you do! You quickly become a two Spyder family!

:welcome: and :congrats: on your purchase. 2012's are considered the best year of the 998 engines and models. You should be able to look forward to many miles and years of riding.

Heed the warning about wife driving. I had to buy my friend Linda her very own one year after I let her get aboard mine. And that is no joke.:yes:

Welcome to our world!

My wife and I got seriously 'spyder bitten' this summer - on 6/3 (my birthday) we purchased the 2013 RT that is known as Spydie (hers).... After a 3 hour ryde (she loaned it to me!) I was hooked, and our 2014 RT/Special came into our lives!

We spent many hours this summer on organized (I have an old Harley and we are both HOG members) and disorganized rydes with friends and by our selves. I don't believe that we've ever spend as much time together and thoroughly enjoy the riding experience and the new 'Spyder people' we have met and who have become a part of our lives!

Hopefully you folks will have as much fun as we have had!!!

Congratulations, the 2012 was a great year for the 990. I rode a 2011 for several years and both my wife and I loved it. riding 20114 now and love it also. I hope you enjoy many, many miles on it. Just remember to....
Ride in comfort and check out my Holiday Special.
John

Us as well

I've had many bikes and they all looked beautiful as I spent most of my time cleaning and polishing. In the end I put relatively few miles on them; the most was 20K on one of my BMWs. Most were in the 3 to 6K range. My RT Limited looks nice, but seldom beautiful because I spend most of my time riding and very little time cleaning and polishing. We are already nearing 20K on our RT and F3. We are having more fun and putting on more miles than on any other bike.

Love that color. I had the same thing in 2015 but had to sell it because of hip pain. Only had it 3 months. Went without one in 2016 and started to look for something this spring and picked up a 750 Honda Spirit. I hated it and this fall picked up a 2016 F3T. Love it, and no hip pain....

Don

Oops, that should say a 2017 F3T...
