• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I am a newbie to the Spyder 's and love the Limited. As soon as my accident settlement comes I want it. I am an older motorcycle guy and never rode 3 wheelers but the accident has left me a bit weak in the left side and the wife loves the Can Am. Why do 2 wheelers say the Spyder is not a motorcycle???:helpsmilie::helpsmilie:

:welcome: You've found the right place to ask your questions.
Who better than a bunch of Spyder lovers to tell you how much they love their rydes? :2thumbs:

The Spyder is different than a motorcycle and it's also different than other 3 wheelers.
There are plenty motorheads here who can give you all the technical reasons for that
but I can tell you, it's all about the ryde and the fun factor.

Hope you get a chance to try one out soon and let us know what you think about it.

:welcome: I rode a GL-1800 Goldwing till my legs started to become weak from in service damage. You are going to luv the way a Spyder handles.

Be Safe

BRP says the Spyder is not a motorcycle so that fuels that comment, however whether you call it a roadster or just a hell of a lot of fun.. It is what it is and its a great time

:agree:

Once you ride one you will see why it's not a motorcycle. A heck of a lot of fun though,

Hopefully you get your paperwork done soon as they only make so many limited models so if you want one, your should try and lock it in before they are sold out. I'm coming from HD to the spyder as I no longer could support the bigger bike. So SE5 and a full revise is just great. I have 1000 miles on it and some of my HD buddies can't keep with now. It is a fun ride but it time to get use to it. Hope you get to enjoy soon.

:welcome: And because it's not.:dontknow:

My $.02... A traditional motorcycle is basically a two-wheeled machine, (though some have trike conversions), that require the rider to put their foot/feet down on the ground when at a stop and to lean into curves, which I have to say is part of the fun of these kinds of bikes. Some of the young riders will pop wheelies or do tricks (though that seems rather foolish <---remember this is only my opinion).

The :spyder2: is a new motorcycle that allows the rider to not put his/her foot down, to be able to steer comfortably (power steering helps here), and is a truly FUN machine to ryde. It feels safer than a traditional bike. It's also a machine that is great for new motorcycle riders who want to experience the freedom without the fear of "handling" a two-wheeled bike.

Plus there are No worries on a :spyder2: about dropping the machine that ever cross the rider's mind.

My opinion....Love your ryde. Be safe.

Came back to add that with a spyder, you can almost instantly be able to carry a passenger with you whereas on the two-wheeled bikes, one must get a large number of road experience before they add that extra person. On the :spyder2: I hardly even know I have a passenger with me. It's AWESOME!!

:welcome: What part of VA?
You need a motorcycle endorsement to ryde so to me it's a motorcycle. Now to some of the diehards it'll never be a bike, I get a kick out of the one's that don't return my wave, what suprises me is that it's usually the cruisers and not the sport bike riders.

I'm also a NamVet with a few more years under my belt than you do. Holding up a big bike is no longer an option, hip replacement ended any desire. I see guys our age riding on two wheels but a lot of them ask about the Spyder and have admitted that a trike sure makes sense. It gets me on the road and the wife even goes along, she would not ride on two wheels.

Get er done.....

:welcome:.........also a Nam Vet (USAF). Enjoy the :spyder2: when you get it..............this is my first "motorcycle" and we have a blast on it.
