• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Newbie sayin hi.

:welcome: and :congrats: on your new ryde. If your "friends" were really smart, they would be driving :spyder2:'s. :roflblack:

View attachment 88806 Sweet ride! :2thumbs:
And welcome to life on a Tripod! :D

Yup that's mine, 'Candy Arabian Red'. Locationwise I'm about an hour North of Raleigh, just a mile into NC on the NC/VA border. Pretty much ride year round, I've got warmnsafe.com heated jacket and gloves.

Farkles on order already are the heat block plate and 'missing' belt guard since my road is gravel. I'll be adding LED driving lights, the front end protection, sway bar / link kit pretty quickly.

On another note....is there a way to tell from VIN if it's RT-S or not? Carfax says it's an RT-S, owner doesn't know, just knows it has the sound system. Haven't found a VIN decoder that says what the free-form digits are for a Spyder.

You've asked the right person... and I don't know! :opps:
I took my 2010 RT A&C model, and turned it into an RT-S over a period of three years. I added every item that was needed, and it was a fun project...
When I traded it in; the dealer listed the bike as an "RT-S"... I don't know if he could do that, if the V.I.N. would tell a different story.
If the bike has:
ACS rear suspension
Rear speakers
heated passenger handgrips
Chrome trim rings around the auxilliary gauges
Foglights
Accent lights
dark smoked chrome wheels
Extra chromw accents on the top trunklid, saddlebag sides, and front "spoilers"
Then it's probably the "real deal". :2thumbs:

:welcome:and :congrats: also, enjoy the :spyder2:.

I have a 2012RTS-SE5 and l love it . ( 7,000 miles trouble free) Deanna777

adding to my excitement....called my local dealer about adding BEST to it, he looked up my VIN and told me I was covered until late Dec 2016. It had standard warranty, and a Can-Am promo warranty.

Since it's been sitting a year or so they recommended letting them do a basic service and computer updates, guess that isn't a bad idea, it'll have 1100 miles on by the time I get it home. I'm usually a wrench on my own stuff person but these guys have a good reputation and bringing her to a pro every once in a while probably isn't a bad thing.
