• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

My Spyder, purchased in March, is the first motorcycle I've owned OR driven , and so I've got some newbie questions:helpsmilie: it's hot where I live, but I want to be protected on the highway, are there any LIGHT weight motorcycle jackets out there? Also, is there some sort of sipper mug that works with a full face helmet? Thanks in advance for your help, and BTW...I'm a good natured sort and can accept being ribbed, just be sure you are too if you decide to go there ;)

There are several types of mesh riding jackets available that might be what you are looking for that are light weight. Check out the BRP site or several of the venders on this sight for different clothing options.

go to "leatherup.com".......these guys have the best prices I have found anywhere and the quality is first class! Little hint, if you order something, fill out all the ordering info but don't click the "place order" button, just exit..........they will email you a code number for a 5% discount to encourage you to go on and place the order......I've used these guys several times and am always more than satisfied! Give them a try, pretty sure you'll be pleased...........

Straw

:welcome:
Yep I found a package of those straws that are bendable..works great with my helmet on...
:agree:I also like dealing with leatherup.com...beware when ordering motorcycle gear that( my experience has been) it runs SMALL...altho my last order for a pair of ryding chaps actually were true to size...but that has been the first thing that has...for example in most jackets I wear anywhere from small to medium and in my ryding gear I have had to order XL.

I also live in very warm climate (well usually, this year doesn't count) and have found the mesh great..got the kind that has inserts so it becomes all weather. Then the other gear that I have found invaluable is good rain gear...not just for the rain, but if I'm a little cold while ryding..it works great for stopping the wind...and holding body heat in..

gotta love :spyder2: ryding...:2thumbs:

I am another rider that has had success with products on leatherup.com but I also use bikebandit.com.. both sites have the items you inquire about as well as about anything you could imagine for riders.

Thanks everyone for the terrific information and links!! :2thumbs:

As for the hydration issue, I had already thought about a camel-back type dispenser, but the problem is that you wear it, and it's already in the triple digits where I am. I could possibly tie it to the :spyder: I don't know, I'll look further into that one. SpyderWolf, I tried to order from MotorcycleGear.com, but couldn't get their site to put the item into the cart..LOL, and they aren't available today for calls. They had a closeout mesh jacket for $29!! and free shipping! Anyway, gotta go to work today, so no time to follow through, Thanks again everyone... anyone else have suggestions, please post them up!

:f_spider: on!!

I've used motorcyclesuperstore.com and have no complaints. Helmet, mesh jacket, rain gear, gloves, both summer and winter plus some odds and ends. Good selection, good return policy, had to return wife's helmet.

SpyderDuck and Catniption had Camelback type hydration systems strapped to the back seat of their Spyders during the owner's event. They had some kind of holder for the mouthpiece hooked up on the cougar head near the handle bars where they could easily get to it. You may want to try sending one of them a PM to find out exactly what they were using.

tornado jacket with armor from Revitt....if your moving your fine, like most other mesh.

http://www.revzilla.com/

Nice thing about revzilla, no sales taxe, free shipping if you spend over 39.00 which is almost impossible not to do & 5.00 back on every 100. you spend for the next purchase.

If you want to return anything, or exchange for size, they will still ship free one time. No restock fees. I've ordered online and went to store, nice people to work with.
