• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Well, after riding two wheels and heavily contemplated purchasing a Yamaha Road Warrior this year, i have decided to just go with the dream and purchase the Spyder!

I found a 2009 Spyder GS, Phantom Black Limited Edition SM5 Roadster from North Honda Powerhouse in Michigan w/3200 miles. Although it now has to be delivered to Massachusetts, i cant wait for it to get here.

As a Can-Am newbie, please feel free to share any helpful insight.

Thanks and hope to see you out on the road! :2thumbs:

Congrats on the new ryde............

I picked up my first byke yesterday. '08 RS/GS SE5. Been 5 weeks since I bought it but had to have shipped from FL then dealer here did the DPS recall. Now, hopefully, it's all ready to roll.

Drive it like you stole it!!! And ryde often! And listen to Mickey, he rocks!

Also, use lots of "!" for no apparent reason...

Welcome to the family. When you get the :spyder2: don't be afraid to ask questions. Everyone here is great and friendly!

Broken record

Congratulations!
Sorry, just got finished writing pretty much this same advice on another post, but for me it bears repeating. The Spyder is a blast to ride, but it is very different from a 2 wheeler. It took me a couple of hundred miles before I started to get used to the handling and really started to enjoy the ride. Take your time and practice before you try to go @#%! to the wall, and you'll find that it's more fun each time you ride it. I think some of the more experienced Spyder riders forget that there is a transition.....especially from 2-wheels.

Okay, I'm off the soapbox.

Thanks folks, I thought about flying to MI, picking it up and riding it back home, but coming from 2 wheels to 3, wasn't sure if I were biting off more than I should be chewing, since i never did test ride one. Nonetheless, it should be here by next week. I will try and grab some pics from the website to post, if I can get that to work. The bike should be here in time for the wonderful 3 day memorial day weekend! So excited, can hardly wait!!! Now, let me see if I can grab some pics for y'all!
