• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Hi Gang! Ok how is this for impulsive - I have always really liked the Can Am Spyder and was playing around online and saw one I really liked. So I did what any practical person would do ....i bought it. And I dont even have a motorcycle license yet.....

Here is what I am waiting to receive.....(hopefully it posts as this is also my 1st post to this site)

Congrats on the purchase an welcome to our little world......

It's a '10 RS-S with 1300 miles on it. Any tips/pointers (aside from the obvious psychological assistance needed respone)/modifications to suggest?

Just keep browsing this site and you will be amazed at what you will find. Check out the great vendors on the Home page for plenty of mods and ideas to make your spyder your "own".
This is a great forum with great people who will share any helpful information they
can. Welcome.

Based on what I see

Looks like there is some custom paint on it already (windshield / eyes) Would lead me to believe there might be more! What did the seller tell you.

:congrats: That's a beautiful machine! I've loved those white (ivory? Pearl white?) RS-S's since they first came out. Enjoy it.

Congrats! You're gonna love it  Lots of good folks around here to help. One year ago I was a brand new rider. I know you'll do fine!

Congratulations!

Welcome to the group. Not to worry about not having your motorcycle license yet (provided your state allows you to test on your Spyder), in some ways the Spyder is more like driving a four wheeled vehicle than a 2 wheeler. It seems to me that the hardest part of my transition from 2 wheels to 3 is unlearning countersteering (and remembering not to grab for the front brake). My girlfriend had a great deal less experience on traditional motorcycles and thinks the Spyder is more naturally instinctual. Take your time learning to ride, don't try to keep up with experienced riders, and trust the gurus on this site (of which by the way I am not one....but you'll still want to follow this advice) and you'll be fine.
