There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I suspect many Spyder salesmen are much like the way I characterize big box store sales people - 1/3 knowledge, 1/3 ignorance, and 1/3 bull s***!

If you get serious about buying a Spyder try to snag one of those rentals at the end of the season. The dealers get a kick back on them, they are untitled, and warranty starts when you buy it. I was told they're considered a demo machine. At least that was the case with a rental my dealer had. I waited too long and someone beat me to it.

As stated above about the Price factor....If you can find a leftover you can save a lot of money....after you take your extended test ride remember there are a lot of dealers that you can get a great deal from......Changes from the 2014 RT Limited to the present are minor.

okiegw i to looked into the spyder. my wife and i took a spyder for a ride it lasted for about 15 minutes and my wife told me she had to get off her back was starting to hurt and i had a lot of trouble keeping it on the road. we ride a 2013 goldwing with a csc trike and we both love it. runs great and handels great. my wife dose not want to give it up. the spyders are ok but not for us. i had a atv when i was hunting so i know how they handle. i have had six goldwings and they have never let me down. like they said take one for a ride that will let you know if you want one. like i said they are a fine machine but not like my goldwing. good luck.

I love my Goldwing and I don't think I can be beat for comfort. Not sure I want to give up two wheels yet. I keep reading things on this forum that concern me about the spyder's the sound and entertainment system doesn't seem to be comparable with what I am used to on the wing. Also maintenance seems to be an issue, but I will admit that Taking 4 to 6 hours on a goldwing airbagger to change a air filter is no fun either. I really like the looks and concept of the Spyder. I am going to keep reading and take a test drive at some point. I also can't believe that a 30,000.00$ machine comes without a heated saddle and that is another grand or if you do a custom seat up to almost two grand.

My wife had just the opposite reaction. She had back surgery and could no longer ride on our Goldwing. After some looking at other bikes we accidently came across a used Spyder that got her attention. We stopped at our closest dealer on our way home and she instantly fell in love with out first RT-L. After four years, we upgraded to a 1330 RT and she likes it even more than the first one. Try everything you can and don't rely on any opinion but your own. Everybody likes something different. Check them all out.

Rode Goldwings for 21 years(1500's & 1800's). First Spyder in 2008, then RT-S in 2012, now RT-L in 2015. Will never look back. Wife has neck trouble and the Spyders have been a blessing No pain while riding, as was not the case on the Wings. No problems with any of the three Spyders. Still have the '09 GS. As for maintenance, trade offs: some less time, some more time, but all are straight forward. The Spyder is the SAFEST 3 wheeler.(have driven, not owned conversions) Have the dealer install the CB-Com as it is warrantied thru the life of whatever warranty you choose. Contact Ryan Nichols, General Manager of Stillwater Powersports. There setup and service technician is tops. Best in Oklahoma. Ryde Safe

I went from a 2008 GL1800 to the RT Limited and was on the gold wings since 2001. I don't think you can compare the two bikes it"s compairing apples to oranges.
I went to a trike due to a tired knee. The Gold wing was very heavy when traveling two up and fully loaded and I was always worried about dropping it and not being able to pick it up. I read all I could on the GW trike and the RT Limited. I liked what the RT had but the Gold Wing is an awesome touring bike but the GW trike is bigger than the RT.
if you buy a Spyder ask the dealer if they do alignments on them and have it done. I found out after I bought mine that the service department at the dealership does not do the alignments not even the BRP procedure. I won't be back in that CT dealership.
I had the laser alignment done (twice, shop had it wrong on first attempt) and this is now a joy to ride.

Accessories aren't covered by BEST. If dealer installs they have a one year warranty including labor. Owner installed 90 days no labor.

Reverse?
I know it may sound silly but nobody mention a true reverse gear in the Spyder, I love it, my riding chums are jealous at each and every stop.
