• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

We've had the 2013 ST limited for about 3 weeks now and my wife seem to love it. Since I'm on a few forums ( mainly the Vulcan Baggers forum) I have done a lot of reading on this one. It seems the ST's have a heat problem but she hasn't noticed it. I have also heard and read that the gas milage was bad,but so far we've averaged 34 mpg and that's as good as my Nomad. I'm done doing mods on the Nomad ( kinda)so I set my sights on the spyder. I've read a lot about Bajaron's swaybar and wanted to know if it's really worth it. She also needs a backrest but just a drivers backrest since the spyder already has one for the passenger. If I need to I will replace the seat to get a backrest. I have an RDL on my Nomad and like it a lot but it looks like Ultimate makes a nice seat too. Just wondering what other mods are a must do

After market backrests are pretty decent and some are very good. Other good options are the Baja Ron Sway Bar and the Spyderpops Bumpskid.

There is a lot of mis-information out there. However, you have come to the right forum for informed experience. The heat problems associated with model year 2013 are for the RT models, not the ST. The Bajaron is a good investment but I also think you need to gain Spyder seat time and miles before making any adjustments so you can be sure of what you want and the relative value of the change. I am confidant that you will love your new Spyder and welcome to the forum!

yes heat issues with the 13 st's...

wish I could chime in on mods but cant really say anything as mine is 100% stock...as far as the heat issues when riding when its warm outside you can really feel it...but in cold weather riding its not that bad...thinking about the sway bar myself...btw beautiful bike

Welcome..!!

The heat issue was not to all the units and models. They have been dealt with and yours seems to be fine. The swaybar is great but only if you are having handling problems. As you get better aquainted you may feel you need more and thats a good time to get it. If you ryde freeways and windy areas it really helps steady your ryde. Search our vendors for backrests someone had some for sale a few days ago...glad she is enjoying the spyder...:ohyea::ohyea:

heat and other issues

Hi I also have 2013 ST Ltd - re heat - your seller has looked after you as the picture shows you have the airflow panels (as on 2014 st) - I had them put on my 13 st, as have many others, and it seems to address the heat issue.
Am waiting on our next summer to test whether the cat (sorry premuffler) can stay or should go... Interestingly since we replaced the rear fender with the brp sports fender - which involves taking off the front portion of the belt guard - it seems to be allowing somewhere for some of the cat heat to escape ...
However, the airflow panels stopped the petrol (gas for you guys) boiling, and stopped upper legs burning, so a good fix for me.
Just added bajaron sway bar and found it makes a big difference cornering, keeps it flatter and somehow just feels more planted.
My best tip is to make sure you get a laser alignment done (before swaybar) as this may be all that you need or want - it may already have been done!

Thanks for you imput, loisk I have read about the air flow panels but didn't know what to look for. I'm glade to know we have one. As for the backrest when I googled it i only found ones for the RT. I don't know if the seats are the same or not. I would like to find someone that does lazer alignments in OKC. I read somewhere that Squared Away came here last year maybe they'll come back. I think a bumpskid may be in her future if you know what I mean.
The first time I road the spyder it felt like it was floating side to side but after a few miles that went away. My wife said in a 30 to 35 mph crosswind it was a little hard to keep on the road. I had the same problem on my Nomad lol. So I guess I'll wait on the sway bar for now.
Thanks again Dave

I may be looking at a different picture but the one I see does not have the airflow panels. It is a free replacement from BRP.
The bajaron sway bar is a great upgrade.
