• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

New York times review

Has this reviewer actually ridden a motorcycle before? Here's his description of countersteering: "the rider pulls back on the left handlebar to turn right". No, that's totally wrong. You push the right handlebar to turn right. Yes, you can pull left to turn right, but it is (in my opinion) an unstable and unsafe way to steer a motorcycle.
It should be:
"Tap left...go left. Tap right...etc..." (Not even a decent "push")
I'd would like to follow him down the road a ways to watch him countersteer himself into the back of an ambulance!:shemademe_smilie::shocked:

the only thing I dont get is I assume that the demo models that the reviewers are writing about are supplied by BRP.

so why would BRP NOT configure the spyders with the shock preload set up higher, higher tire pressure and make sure they are optimized for the reviewer. give them the latest model RTS pre-configured for review like the car mfg do.

it seems like they are getting demo models from a dealer floor not set up to ride better and without all the latest fixes and updates...

:agree:with all the replies. A test drive does not give a full appreciation for the :spyder2:. There is a learning curve for driving it, and once you get past that--one starts to appreciate the fine points of the :spyder2:. I bought my first :spyder2: with no test drive, or even one to look at. I just had to have one after I saw one in a introductory article in a motorcycle magazine. The rest is history. Three :spyder2:'s later and more than 50,000 miles--I still like the :spyder2:.

When I think of it, a "tap" is a brief contact that at most does a lane change. You can't "tap" the bar to make a sweeping turn.

If that reviewer has actually ridden a motorcycle before, whoever taught him ought to be shot for teaching grossly unsafe riding technique.
