There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. new yellow SM5 for sale in Sa, TX

I went by Joe Harrison Honda in San Antonio, TX to check on my SE5 and spoke to Danny. He said he has a new Yellow SM5 available in stock ready to go if anyone is intrested.

I just picked my Yellow :spyder:from Joe Harrison on Tuesday of this week. It has been a lot of fun so far. Only ordered the Cal Sci windshield, mirror extenders, cramp buster, two mesh jackets, two helmets and three pairs of gloves.

It's been an expensive week  but it's also been a lot of fun what with all the looks and questions. Gotta keep a rag in the trunk to wipe off the drool :)

If you're in SA, you should jump on it!

Great, I also ordered SE5 from Joe Harrison, what did they charge you for PDI and shipment?

I bought mine from the suzuki dealer in Lytle. I heard a lot of things about harrison regarding dealer prep and delivery charger. The dealer in Lytle also has a yellow one in stock that BRP gave them for following the rules and not placing any ghost orders. Dealer prep and other charges are less in Lytle.

Joe Harrison was a bit more than $900 (would have to look it up to verify) for dealer prep and shipping. I found out about South Texas Suzuki after I'd already put down my deposit and signed a contract so I didn't make a stink about it and just went through with the deal at Joe's. Live and learn.

Through these boards I heard STS charged more like $500. I will certainly give them a chance to earn other service business, however.

I have heard horror stories that the dealer in Austin is charging $2,500 for the same thing

I also placed my order back in April with JHMS, but you know I just checked with the dealer in League City and they charge $1800 for PDI and shipping, so I guess Joe is not that bad after all. I just can't wait, I talked to them yesterday and still expected delivery Sept 30th.

joe harrison

I have probably bought 10 bikes or more from them in the past and have always had good service. I don't know the folks from STS so I could not tell you good or bad. I know with my experences with JH have always been great. They have been around forever so they are doing something right.

That is good to know. I bought a bike from Joe before and was happy with the deal but didn't have them do a lot of maintenance on it.

As I was paying for the :spyder:the finance gal asked if I was interested in their pre-paid maintenance program. It was like $1,200 for six (6) service visits (whatever is in your owner's manual) that included parts and labor. After looking at the cost for service this sounds good to me.

Before I pull the trigger I was hoping for feedback from some of you folks on their experience with pre-paid maintenance.

Thanks, Tony

That's a good question. which I will ask them when I go over tomorrow. I know I'm buying the extended warranty. It almost seems that when you don't your doomed. I had a bad experince on a truck a few year's back where I did not buy the ext warranty and it cost me big. it seems when you have coverage nothing happens. When you don't have coverage something always goes wrong.:chat:

They are going to get your money one way or another. :D

'You can pay me now, or you can pay me later...'

There is also the other scenario where your warranty expires and a few months later, a major, high dollar, component fails. :banghead:

Freight and setup cost me $400.00 at South Texas Suzuki.

I think Woods is charging sky high fees because they lost the $1000 down on 2 spyders because they were ghost orders. I have bought 4 bikes from Woods in the past, and walked in the door ready to order 2 Spyders. They were so bad to deal with that I felt dumber after talking to them. I found STS, and the deal went great!

RE: SERVICE

Well it's good to know there is a couple of great dealer's in or close to San Antonio when needed. Hopefully all of us locals in SA can meet up and ride.

vwatso, I agree with you wholeheartedly. I've only had my :spyder:a few days now and am getting used to it at a very fast clip. It is amazing how well it rides and although you guys warned me, I'm still a little flustered by the attention this thing draws.

It really is one smart and advanced looking machine and anyone with an appreciation for that aesthetic will get excited, ask questions, take pictures. Kinda cool, actually.

Now that I actually own one, I would like to get together with the South Texas Spyder Ryders (sounds like a jacket?) and do some group rides. My Wife-L-Unit and I are taking our first fairly decent ride from San Antonio to Pflugerville tomorrow, the long way 281 North to Blanco and Dripping Springs. Will take the camera and post some pictures. It is supposed to be sunny and hot, but should make for some cool pictures.

Let's get organized real soon. Tony

austin Cablelas

Tony,

If you are going to Austin tomorrow you might want to stop by Cabelas in San Marcos on the way back and see if they have any spyder apperal at that one. I have seen online that they carry jackets gloves ect. (like we really need um in south Texas). I saw some shirts that were cool. I did not get a chance to stop by JH today. We went up and drove around canyon lake. a lot of cycles on the road today and Hot!!!!! Have a good trip tommorrow and drive safe. I can't tell you how many cars I saw cutting off bikes. All the attention you make get driving the spyders may cause some wrecks!~

If you plan on having them do all the oil changes and services, this may be an OK deal. I got a prepaid mx contract on mine for 3 years unlimited mileage for all scheduled mx including parts, supplies, and labor (Im sure Ill have to pay for brake pads and the like though) They only charged me $1500 for that. I think Im gonna make out OK

LittleJohn, that is perfect feedback, thank you. I think I will go ahead with this as from reading the posts, it looks like mx parts and labor are pretty high so if they will cover ALL parts and services for the first 6 services for a fixed price, that has to be cheaper than the total if you walked in off the street. Thanks, man
