• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

New Windshield Bracket -- Thank You Cruzr Joe

First a huge thank you to Cruzr Joe for having a bracket powder coated (black) and shipped for a VERY reasonable price. It took far longer to actually get up the courage to perform the swap as I was paranoid about scratching the windshield with the little cover plates. I searched for and read through several threads, finally working up to the task this morning.

The reason I wanted this bracket changed is that I scratched the inside of the windshield a little over a year ago and, while Sue Hopper was here to add artwork to the Spyder and hubbies Harley, she etched the words "LEGION RIDERS" into the shield and covered the scratch. The old gray bracket really hid the etching and I always wanted to change over to black -- Joe's offer to have a second bracket done (he sold the other to finless, aka Bob) was just absolutely WONDERFUL. nojoke

Anyway, as you can see from the attached ... before and after shots ... the etching now stands out like it should!

I am very happy that you got it done the way you wanted it, and very proud that you were able to do it with very little help. :firstplace: :thumbup::thumbup:

It looks great and I am happy that i was able to help you with it.

Paint

Did you spray paint the inner arms??

Cruzr joe

Joe ... I decided not to as it looked as if all the pieces were clear anodized and I was afraid over time the paint would chip or peel (then I'd have a really ugly mess on my hands). They are pretty much hidden by the new bracket and I'm really the only one that sees them .... and I am okay with the difference. As I recall finless (Bob) also did not paint his.

Thank again ..... Ann

OK, i sprayed mine with Rustoleum paint and have had no problem yet, and if it scratches for some reason i can just touch it up with a permanent magic marker. I thought about removing them to be powder coated but that knowledge was beyond my pay grade :roflblack:
