I ordered the Utopia backrest and it should ship March 12th. I now have a question. I'm not as limber as I once was and am trying to figure out how to get on the seat with the backrest. I could lay the backrest flat, climb on board and hope to some how straighten it back up.
Any suggestions? Guess I just can't visualize this one
Hi everyone...I am new to spyderlovers...as a member not a stalker...lol. I am seriously considering the utopia back rest but have concerns as to is it to far back to ride comfortably? I am short 5'2" and I don't want to have to stretch to relax...if you know what I mean....please let me know..good....bad anything about this backrest. THANKS in advance! Also, trying to figure out highway pegs/floorboards. I have the 2010 RT SE5.
Welcome to the club!! I am only 5'3". We just installed this on our RT. The backrest is adjustable up and down as well as front to back. I rode the RT yesterday and it was perfect, with room to adjust. I wish the backrest on my RS was like this one. I don't think you'll have a problem.
Thank you SpyderGirl!!!! Told hubby I would "research" b4 I ordered it....
Yesterday evening I installed the new Utopia backrest on the LTD. The scary thing was the driving of the bread knife into the backrest...all the way :yikes:.
Battled a bit with the lining up of the bolts but no major issue. I can recommend to do this job yourself, not all that hard.
Looks great and I will take the lot out for a run today.
It seems that I do not need to hoist Kathy into the back seat, she will fit in there without the use of levers...with room to spare...and room in the pouch for her hair dryer..

Well after several months of procrastination I finally completed the Fuel door mod. I see that someone else here beat me to it, but I didn't want to cut up my PE0036 seat so I had to wait on a spare seat.Keep us posted! It's exactly what I am looking for since I can't afford to purchase a Corbin. I am happy with my stock seat modified with the Utopia backrest.
