There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. New Toy Hauler for Darth & Psycho

Thanks Jack & Mr. P.

I'll look into a Ford 150 rental. The Tundra has the right 7 way plug, rated at 10,500#, except... it is lacking the the controller. I have a little time yet. I may ask the Toyota dealer (who supplies the rental) about them adding a controller vs me doing a temporary. The under dash bit is simple, but adding the wiring from the battery to the 7way plug on a rental might be the issue.

My frustration is not with people that have accidents or tear up vehicles that are loaded OVER their rated loads. That's stupid. And if I were going to try to pull over 5000# with the Santa Fe, I SHOULD have my head examined. My frustration is that they DO rate the Santa Fe at 5000# and me pulling 4700# would be fodder for an insurance company. I DO get that I want to say back from the line. I DO get that insurance companies and others can sue anyone over anything. Grrrrr.....

Thanks again all.....

Don't listen to Jack........ He is recommending a ford F-150. All his credibility is gone with that crazy statement. :roflblack:

Randy, Randy, Randy. You back to this again. Any time you want to have a towing competition you just let me know. F-150 ecoboost will put you to shame.

Nice trailer and camera set up Phil, I need to do that to mine.

One question though. Why not an all aluminum trailer. It seems you could have shaved a few pounds there. I have a 7' x 23' powersports trailer that weighs 2000 lbs.

Good question.... I really did consider all aluminum for exactly the same reason. Unloaded I'm 2700# for a 700# extra for the steel box tube. I had someone convince me that to get minimal flex in the frame, I needed to be steel. I stated that with the proper design and gusseting, it shouldn't flex with aluminum. At the end of the conversation I settled on steel. But our minds are on the same track.

Beautiful trailer BTW!!

Here you go Randy, not an F-150 ecoboost, but funny just the same. "Toyota, we're here to race" but we don't have a truck capable of pulling our race trucks.:roflblack:

You need to stop this Toyota BS, you're embarrassing yourself.

:roflblack::roflblack: GOOD ONE I must say.

Thats funny a Toyota pulling a space shuttle?? Its not towing unless you can go up and down hills. I want to see that Toyota at the bottom of a 6% grade with the space shuttle STILL behid it.

?Curious, so what is the published towing capacity on the Toyota? F-150 with Ecoboost is 11,200#. Just wondering.

Jack

Boys, boys, boys...always having to compare to see who's is bigger!

All the pickups mentioned will put a 7000 lb. gross trailer just fine.

Phil, the Tundra should have the necessary wiring in place for the brake controller, all that's needed is the short sub-harness to hook the actual brake controller to a plug under the dash. That sub-harness should be in a plastic bag in the glove box.

Great info John! Thanks. I have a call with them tomorrow and I'll ask them. It's a 2015 (in case I didn't mention). I offered to pay for the controller if they would do a factory level install. This makes that conversation easier!!

Interior

PLEASE don't judge the tie down work. I KNOW not to strap the rear via the swing arm.

This was a learning experience and a test to see how my RT fits. Mark Lawson and I had a long talk about the process after I took these pics. I've ordered several things, including 4, 24" straps with rings to go through the front wheels, and two 33" straps for the back. The short strap will go through the wheel. I'll then tie the back wheel forward toward the front tires on both sides.

Better deal overall!! My side cameras were $150 each. Congrats!!
No thank you for posting them in the first place as timing is everything. I just bought a new toy hauler and thought this would really help out when backing up in certain situations and them I just got an email add from Camping World with these on it, so I ordered. Picking the hauler up next Monday.

I love the embedded e-tracks. Wish my trailer had them, but it was built before they were an option. I may havew some added to the walls someday, like I did on an earlier trailer.
