• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

New Toy Hauler for Darth & Psycho

New Toy Hauler

Phil,
Congratulations on the new trailer. I like the camera system you have for this trailer. I would change the way you strap your Spyders in the trailer. Give me a call and we can discuss.

Will do. As I said..... this was only a test. When I receive the additional tie downs, I'll hollar. It's time to do lunch again, anyway!!

Why not just post your method here? Others may benefit, if it's better than what we do now.

Just to add my two cents to the tie down discussion, I purchased the following wheel tie downs from E-Trailer.com. Used them on a 2000 mile trip to Florida in February and they worked great. NO RIM MARKS form tie downs.

Improve tie down

I learned a lot from my first shot at tying down Darth. Here's the result. Short straps through the front wheels. Longer strap through the rear wheel. The rear is cross tied for stability. Remember that I still need to get Bobbie's Psycho in so I cannot tie back. The e-track clip in lugs are great. The are out of the way as I drive in so I just leave them in the track.

Thanks to all for your input and help!

How's this look?

Better?! ;) This is the Tundra I'm renting. V8. LOADS of punch and pull. This is unloaded. I have several hitch rises so I'll see what ultimate height we need after putting everything in.

Keep the trailer level after loading. This keeps even weight distribution on all tires and your braking will be better.

I HAVE decided to rent the Tundra or some other large truck for the trip to SF. I'm REALLY hoping to rent one with an electric brake controller, but that doesn't seem to be common on stock vehicles that are rent-able.

Go with the Prodigy RF unit. It doesn't have to be wired into the truck at all as it communicates to the trailer not through the wiring but through radio frequency.

You can use as many tow vehicles as you want ...

Hey Bill- If you look in My Mods, and search for DARTH and PSYCHO (and/or Phil), you'll see lots of pics. Thanks so much!!

Nice setup Phil!

I wanted to purchase a enclosed utility trailer but throughout my shopping, I cannot find a trailer that has a door clearance that will allow for the width of the bike (5'-2"). My findings; the inside dimension of a 6X10 is 5'-8" X 9'-8" and the door clearance is 5'-2".

For what I can see in the pictures, your trailer is made by "Bravo". What are your clear space dimensions and door width clearance? Thanks
