• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

New to Three Wheelers. Long time on two

Riding 2 wheels since 1967.
Recent health reasons have compelled me to buy a Ryker.
It's definitely different, with very little of my experience applicable. The "twitch" keeps me very alert 🤣🤣.
I just received a steering stabilizer. I'm hoping that helps.

I'm in the same boat so Welcome Aboard :2thumbs: Just fitted a stabiliser but haven't been able to test it yet. Will be interesting to hear your findings.

A “steering stabiliser”? Do you mean a sway bar? That will certainly change handling characteristics, but the major reason for the “twitch” is YOU, Wetduc ;)

You are gripping the bars too tight, which leads to over correcting, resulting in the twitch you are experiencing. It happens to all new Ryker/Spyder riders in one form or another. Loosen your grip and let the Ryker have its head a little, and read the riding tips link that Copper has posted above. The twitch will soon disappear.:2thumbs:

No, I mean a steering stabilizer, not an upgraded sway bar. As far as gripping the bars too tight, that is not the issue. I realize that the twitch is not there on Spyders due to the electronic power steering. On my rally it improved once I softened the suspension a little for my 150 lb frame. On smooth roads it's quite manageable but we are eating up with road snakes. Ride Safe down under

Welcome! I see you are in NC - Check out the 'Triangle Spyders' group if you are on facebook. We are doing a ride next weekend (9/7) to the NC mountains. Going to travel up to the Boone area; hop on the BRP; and take that down to Little Switzerland. Then we're heading home (Apex/Cary area). You're welcome to join us for any part of the ride.

Been riding 2 wheels since 1979. I got the Ryker this spring. I had a little trouble getting used to it. I started with bar end links and dialing in the tire pressure. In my case the dealer had all the tires over inflated. That did it for me. No more twitch. I looked at the stabilizer and had that on the list as a next step but I cured my issue a little easier. Hope you get it figured out. Welcome to three wheels!

The more you ride it the more comfortable you will get.
Like you I started riding in the sixties. I was on here for about a year before I got the Ryker and had some idea what to expect.
Three wheels takes some getting used to (the first day I kept putting a foot down at a stop. LOL)
The damper helps. What setting do you have it at? I have mine set on #4 right now.
Lots of good advice here.

Gotcha!

Got the stabilizer installed this afternoon. However, the Liquid Sunshine prevented me from testing it out. I did the initial setting at 4. Thanks.
