• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Hi all.
Just purchased a 2024 S2S last month. Before that I had 2021 900 Ryker. When I bought the Ryker, I was single. Well, that changed, and I tried to mod the Ryker for 2 up. Ultimate seat, Elka shocks, floorboards, Bluetooth speaker, SlingMods 3-piece luggage kit were only some of the mods. But it wasn’t great for 2-up distance riding. I know an awful lot about Ryker’s - Nothing about Spyders!
Thank You for letting me join and tapping into your knowledge.

You made the choice that many have made after trying to turn a sport bike into a touring bike. You are really going to love that Sea To Sky.

We thought about an F3. But the GF didn’t like seat space. She felt crowded. I screwed up. I shouldn’t have let her sit on the S2S.

Nah, you'll enjoy the S2S and if you farkled that Ryker that much, you'll find what you need to make the S2S perfect for you. If it's not snappy or quick enough consider starting with a Lamonster Garage PedalBox, have done mine and a couple buddies and everyone really enjoys the improvements. Lot's of online Youtube vids that give you better ideas as well.

I told myself no mods until I ride it for a yr. :)

:welcome:

And :congrats: on your new 2024 S2S :spyder2:

When you are turning corners (left/or right) you push thru the corners. You don't lean like you would on a 2-wheel motorcycle when you are going thru the corners.

There is no lugging on Spyders, even riding 2 up.

You can cruise around town in 6th gear at a lower RPM.

The "1330 Ace engine" is a quiet, low maintenance engine.

Take a look at the owner's manual for how often you should do an oil change.

When you are on your 2024 S2S you sit more up-right (your legs are in line with your body. On Ryker's, you are more stretched out.

The following is only a suggestion: get a upgade sway bar (they help prevent lopsided wheel alignment and work to maintain an overall better grip on the road). Check the vendors on this site.

I hope the above info helps.

I hope some other people that have S2S Spdyers will chime in.

Thank You, Deanna :)
I have a maintenance backgroud. Not bikes/trikes but aviation. So I’m more than comfortable with turning wrenches and following manuals. The GF was teasing me bc I downloaded the owner's manual before we picked up the Spyder.
I have ridden about 600 km since picking up Spyder. Would be a lot more if it stopped raining.
So far, the biggest issue is all the buttons on the bars. I still honk the horn instead of turning on a signal light.
Thank You again for the input.
I upgraded the sway bar and links on my Ryker. Made a world of difference. Will it be the same for the Spyder?

I tried to buy a 2023 S2S today, and the dealer did not really want to sell it. How do I know that? They offered me 1/2 of the going dealer trade in price for one of my 2018 RTLs.

Enjoy your new ride!

My ride buddy was going to buy the other silver 2023 RTL they had and same deal. They lost two sales in 30 minutes!

HI Riplin,

You are Welcome!

Let the smiles and miles begin. OK, that is great. :nopic: Also, please don't forget to post a picture and the year of your Spyder in your signature (that helps other people on this site help you).

What about the 600 KM in miles? (here in Vt. we have snow on the ground, but not for long; this week the temps will be in the 50's and 60's & sunny)
It will take time to get used to all of the buttons on the bars. (I am currently on my 3rd spyder, I started with a 2012 RTS-SE 5, then I traded up to a 2014 RTS-SE6, and my current Spyder is a 2023 F3 LTD Special Series).
You are Welcome! We are here to help!

Yes, the sway bar and links will make a big difference on your Spyder. I have the Ultra Sway bar kit from BajaRon - who is a vendor on this site. You will notice a big difference, especially going around corners. The Spyder grabs/sticks to the road more.

Thanks for the info on the sway bar, Deanna. Same as the Ryker then.
As for a picture I have tried many, many times. It says I have one, but it doesn’t show.

Where doesn't it show, and what have you tried??

There are threads &/or stickies on loading pics at the top of the Spyder General Discussion Sections & in the Forum Support & Testing sub-forum, or you can PM me with the info requested above and I'll try to help - but I am just heading out on a full day of riding & socialising with some of the local South Oz Spyder Ryders; and after that, we've do have crap phone/internet here, so it might take me a while to get back to you - but I will, eventually!

There is a lot of that going around. IMO, they are cutting off the hand that feeds them. :lecturef_smilie:
