• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Welcome welcome....

To both the spyder world and this awesome site..:clap:great choice..:2thumbs: and it is a big switch from your KLR...:yikes:

Great Bike to Start With!

I also started out with a 2013ST! Bit sportier, that 998cc engine is super responsive! Don't get in trouble!

Enjoy

just a tip - if you don't have the airflow side panels (standard on 14+ ST models), ask your dealer to get them for you - no cost, goodwill fix. Reduces heat under the Tupperware, highly recommended.

:2thumbs::congrats::b2b::welcome: Let the FARKLES begin!:yes::yes::yes:
as mentioned above ask dealer about updated panels you may want later. The rest will be miles of smiles!:ohyea:
& you figged how to post a pic!:) lol that still eludes some members.

Thanks for all the responses. How can I tell if I have the airflow side panels? If I post a picture can you tell? Is it for both sides or just one?

Hi, it is for both sides. Adds a fist-sized vent. Here is a picture, hope it helps.

There are two part numbers needed for the kit - left and right.

Thanks Loisk. I see I don't have the improved airflow panels. Since I purchased the bike second hand and not from a dealer do you think Can Am will still provide this fix? I also smell a fairly strong gasoline smell in my garage after a ride.

Yes, dealer should do this even for secondhand - mine was used, too.

Note - it is a Goodwill Fix - not the Recall which only covered 13 RT - many dealers are easily confused. As such it will not show up on a vin search, but it is valid.

Re gas smell, I know in hot weather my fuel would boil, so I had to open the cap and wait before I could fill it. (Pre panels)
Keep an eye on the smell, a service may fix it. Purge valve could need a fix - it is supposed to clear itself on the initial starting rev. Others will chime in I am sure, but a few good runs may be all it needs.

Might pay to contact a good local dealer, get the panels ordered, with the promise to them of a service when the panels arrive!? Will enable you to sus them out in case you need them later on. If you have any issues getting the airflow panel kit, post on this forum and people will give good advice.
