• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Convinced the wife I can sell my Vstar and get a spyder. They have 2 2009's brand new here in Cheyenne so I am trying to sell the bike quickly!

I am shooting for a 2009 SM5 with big plans. I eventually will build to a touring type: better seat with sissy bar, highway pegs, bar risers, tall windscreen.

For power: New exhaust, intake, power commander.

For fun: fog lights, and hids.

I hope to meet some of you in the WyColo area.

Welcome

Glad you found us. Goods luck on you new purchase & be sure to post pics as you put on the new mods.

God bless,

:welcome: Hope you sell your bike fast so you can start having all the fun that we have on our spyders. :ohyea: Make sure you test ride the RS and the RT then decide what you like better.

I don't like the size of the RT. I have a cruiser and a sportbike right now, so I taking 2 into 1.

:welcome: Riding season is getting close for you so I hope you can get the bike sold and join the Spyderlovers around the nataion.

:welcome: It sounds like you want to do a lot of the things my husband did to his spyder, Russell Day Long seat, he fabricated a sissy bar (I want one now too) has a Madstad ajustable windshield and ESI handlbar risers. He had the highway pegs but didn't like them, (they are mine now). He had a Hindle but has gone back to stock and looking for a different exhaust. We both have HIDs but no fog light.

I will say, we have been all over the US on our "touring" RS spyders. If we had the spare $ he would get the RT but I would keep my RS. It is tuned in just for me and I love it. Have a great time and enjoy it.

My wife and I wanted to make it to Cheyene last fall but, only made it as far as Rapid City, ran out of time. It was our first trip into that region, we absolutely loved it :ohyea:and plan on getting back up there again this fall:yes:, just after the Sturgis rally:yikes:.

you got it figerd out i did most things you want to do and having fun,i went to train engineer school there, have fun and ride like the wind.:congrats::clap::spyder2:

Hi Fly Boy... Welcome to the Spyder lifestyle! I think you're going to love it. If your wife intends to ride a lot with you, you may want to check out an RT along with the RS you're considering.

There's no wrong decision, whatever you decide.... that's for sure! Happy Ryding.

Bill

:welcome:

I am a VERY open minded person, so I will test ride the RT as well, however - I don't really travel much with her. She gets the occational couple hour ride here and there.

Thank you all for the warm welcome. can't wait to get it and start Modding!

Welcome to the :spyder2:gang Fly Boy. I turned my RS into a touring bike by adding Seal FloorBoards, 25" Lee Bailey windshield, 5" HeliBar risers and ThrottlMeister cruise control. Lots of luck with your new "favorite toy".

Ride in Comfort,

John
