• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

New to Spyders

all are similar. Most grip too tight and try to over control the first time they get on one. relax go easy for a little bit, it will come to you quickly. May wiggle a little from over control when you first start.

I do appreciate the advice. Thank you.

Yeah, the PMSP. I did it years ago and yeah, I told my wife that it is definitely a must and plus if you successfully complete the course she can get her 9 restriction for 3 wheels. I like it because it is a one stop shop.

I just realized that I have to people replying from two states that we have lived in. Alaska and Virginia.

I meant two.
I’m originally from Pa and now live in Las Vegas. I would always try to get the price down if I could. I gave you two bikes from the for sale thread on this forum, check those out as well. One guy should be fairly close to you. Good Luck!

Unfortunately the guy on Ebay is in Pennsylvania but almost 5 hours away and the other guy is in Staten island. Way to far of a drive for us.

Hey all. We are going to purchase a Spyder this summer for my wife. She is interested in an automatic. We have been riding 2 up for years on my R1150GS. Oilheads are the only bike I really know about. Is there any particular years or models that we should stay away from? Also, anything that we should be looking for, listening for or testing when looking at them? Thank you very much.

We recently (Nov. 2018) bought a 2015 RTS Special Series with only 9000 miles Lotsa bells and whistles, we love riding it 2up. I just bought a Shop Manual for it. Holy Crap it's a complicated, electronically controlled machine. I requires LOTSA dealership (aka EXPENSIVE) visits and parts are BRP Can-Am exclusivity. Buy a Shop Manual on CD (eBay), about $15-25, BEFORE you buy one. I'll probably get flamed for this post, but you need to be aware of what you're getting into.

I am fairly mechanically inclined and my brother in law was a motorcycle technician so I am not to worried about that. Also, most things if taken care of seem to last without expensive fixes. I appreciate the heads up though.

I would encourage you to look at the for sale by owner forum here - you can save yourself some $$$ and even possibly get a newer Spyder for less money. There is a 2016 listed in PA in the for sale forum that is now listed on eBay current bid at $9800. I purchased mine from eBay in 2016 - no regrets here. Also there is a white 2015 like the one you are looking at for $11k.

I searched the for sale forum and even used the search box to specifically type Pennsylvania and did not see the one for $9800 that you mentioned.

If your bride is riding with you most of the time I would suggest the RT. for comfort, storage, etc.
BIG F

Best of luck! Hope to see some pics of what you end up with. You've been given great advise, use it.

that looks like a good choice. Price looks on target. I'd get it before it gets away. It may not last long. And if your doing cash I'd make a good offer to see if you can get it for a lower price. And welcome to the family. Happy Trails from Tennessee.:riding:

Thank you. We have an appointment tomorrow morning to go look at it.
