• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I just sold my 2005 BMW K1200LT (limited strength on my left side is causing problems). Am considering replacing with an RT Limited. How negotiable is the list price (generally speaking) and any advice on the Spyder would be appreciated. Thanks!

:welcome: For those with limitations, as well as anyone, a :f_spider: is the way to go. Good luck on your hunt. Get ready for the rydes of your life, cause it sounds like you've been bitten. ;)

Unless you are loyal to a dealership, I would call every dealership in Michigan and compare "out the door" prices. You might want to include surrounding states! I live in Romulus, if that is close to you, give me a call.

Instead fishing for a better price, look for the best service technicians: this is the dealer you want to buy from. nojoke

:agree: You definitely want knowledgeable techs to work with! Spyder is a complicated vehicle, and it's almost too smart for it's own good!

I have been to numerous dealerships. They ALL claimed they had the best techs. Certified by BRP! :roflblack:

Yup, call the dealers and make sure that you are comparing Apples to apples and not apples to oranges. Make sure the "out the door" price really is out the door with no surprises. When you get your best couple of prices, come back on line and maybe the MI forum here and see what people have to say about the service dept and techs from the dealers that gave you the best prices. If you get glowing reviews, that is great. If you get some really bad testimonies, you will know you don't want to continue with that dealership on a regular basis. What ever you decide though, :welcome:

Good move. Traded in my K1200LT a month ago fo my new 2011 RTS SE. Hav almost 4000 miles on it in just over 4 week. Best of luck.

Many of us don't have a choice - if the local dealer is crummy, the next closest is 190 miles away... Find a good price & buy the bike with the max BEST warranty, and a shop manual. ....
