• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. New Tires, Yokohama AVS ES100's

I just ordered a set of Yokohama AVS ES100's for the Spyder.
I really like these directional tires for several reasons.
They are HP summer tires (sticky)
They are directional
They look really cool
They come in 185/60-14 and 225/50-15 so you can have a full set of the same tire.
Down side:
They are discontinued and stocks are getting low. Once they are gone, they are gone. The replacement for them wont be made in 14 or 15 inch sizes.
They are not cheap.
TireRack has a few left.

Sounds very interesting. You aren't worried about leaving most of them on the hot Florida roadways? :D Let us know how well these tires work for you.

are 185's working alright?
i went to 2 different discount tire today to get fronts and both said "no way" on 185. i went and ordered falken ze512 in 175.
185 is cheaper and there are more choices...

Not 100% sure yet but by the specs they are only 0.2 inches taller. Thats nothing really. Several have done it with success.
I have a welder and could make new fender brackets if I needed too, but that is not my intention.
I do think I will use Capt John's mod and oval out the holes in the fenders and slide them out till they hit the brackets.
by 175s do you mean 175/65 or 175/60
If you look at the specs the 185/60 is smaller diameter than the 175/65
The 512 is a nice tire but also discontinued.
14 and 15 inch tires are going the way of the dinosaur......

If you have to oval out the holes, would you please provide pictures of what you actually end up doing?

Sure but it is going to be a while before I install these. I bought them because they are discontinued, not because my tires are worn out.

Not a problem at all, I still have some decent rubber on my tires as well right now.

Take the tire off and look underneath the fender, the two arms have brackets that have 3 10mm bolts each, grind or file the holes towards the outside of the bracket, maybe 3/8 ''. You can now move the fender out until the inside of the fender hits the bracket arms. You should be able to stuff some 185's in there now with about 3/8" clearance. The michelins would have been a tight fit otherwise.

Thank you sir! I believe I can follow those directions without needing any pictures to help now. Still not sure if I will go with the 185's but I do like the fact you have a lot more options that way.

Sorry Jim: for calling you John in a previous post. I have a good friend who is Police retired and goes by Capt John. Brain fade .......
