• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

New supporting vendor- Seal FloorBoards

Lamont, does he have anything in mind for the RT?

Paul

Hi Paul,

Yes, the RT is at the top of my list. I'm looking for a RT owner in Oregon (Between Portland and Salem) who will let me study his RT and do the prototype work so all you have asked about Seal FloorBoards for the RT can get them. To my surprise, almost 1/3 of my emails ask your same question.

Thanks,

John

Hi tajohn,

Thanks for the shout-out. It's my intention to show my appreciation by making Seal FloorBoards the best floorboard system on the market and giving my personal attention to everyone who contacts me, whether they buy or not.

Be well

John

Hi SpyderWolf,

Thanks for the welcome. Your Spyder looks awesome. The only improvement I can see would be the addition of Seal FloorBoards.

Keep on,

John

Thanks John. I have some more mods currently in the works right now, and am enjoying my billet footpegs from ESI at the moment. I will definitely keep you in mind though for if/when I decide to go with an actual floorboard instead.

welcome Quality vendors are important to this community. Glad to have you here.

Hi dltang,

Thanks for the kind words. I'm going to do my very best to earn the trust of all SpyderLovers. This is not my first business but it sure is one of the most exciting projects I've taken on in my 40+ yrs. as a sculptor.

Thanks again,

John

You impressed me a few days ago by quickly responding to my e-mail inquiring about developing Sealboards for the RT. Though you're a busy man, some of us would be interested in seeing examples of your four decades as a scuptor. Perhaps you'll post some pics on the "off topic" board when/if you get a free moment.

your frinds RT

Hi,

Thank for the invite. I would love to come. Unfortunately I somehow lost your message before I could write down your phone #. I'll try to retrieve it but please resend my your # or give me a time and address.

Thanks for your help,

John

I'm really curious. Wife and I have been looking at various floorboards, highway pegs etc.

These seem kinda high up... I like the way they look but I'm not sure there's enough room to be comfortable unless my feet are straight out, which I'm sure is great on the highway but what about lower speeds or hard cornering?

Hi dltang,

Thanks for the kind welcome. I will do everything in my power to make Spider FloorBoards a worthy addition to the Spyder mods community.

welcome
Hi John,

I have two questions about your awesome Seal FloorBoards. How well would they fit a ryder with long legs? Being 6' 4", I've been looking for a way to stretch out these legs on the move. I'm leaning towards Highway Pegs and looking at your site, I noticed your position is what I have now. Do you have anything in the works, that would be good for taller Spyder owners?

Thanks,

Brian.

Congratulations on coming aboard. I think the RT community is gonna keep you busy for sure! And thanks for your support of this great site.

My look at the RT boards

I had the pleasure of letting John use my RT-S SE5 as template for his Seal Floorboard. The Seal Floorboard is a floorboard that goes from the rear passenger footrests to the front radiator openings with various bends for the forward foot position. The brake pedal does not have to be relocated and works just fine with the Seal Floorboard mounted. These mount on top of the foot pegs and below the passenger foot rests. You only have to remove the rubber pads of the foot pegs, total of 4 bolts.

I am 6'6" tall and weigh over 300 lbs. I was able to stand on the Seal Floorboard and it did not give at all, even when I put my weight on the outer edges of the boards. There is some flex but it is only minute and adds to the comfort of the ride.

When I put my feet on the normal position on the pegs, my knees are less than 90 degrees which after a while is somewhat uncomfortable. I took a ride with the Seal Floorboards on my RT-S and found that I was able to position my feet in a way that my knee angle was 90 degrees. This was very comfortable and was very easy to use the brake pedal. To test that there was no interference in stopping, I went around my neighborhood at various speeds and stopped gently and also did panic stops. The boards did not inhibit the ability to find and use the brake pedal at all. I actually found using the pedal easier than before.

On the test ride, I was able to check how my feet would work on the front angled postion of the board by the radiator openings. Again very comfortable! I discovered that I found 3 different foot positions that worked for me. To the point I can not wait for the finished product. I will happily write that check for the mod.

Being that John was using his aluminum masters on my RT-S, I do not have pictures but he did take pictures of my bike with them on. If you PM him he might send you a pic. He did say that the finished product should be out in about 2 weeks, powder coater time he said.
