• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

New SpyderLover in Central PA

Hello Everyone!

I just picked up my 2011 Viper Red RT-S yesterday and took the long way home (95 miles). Took a test ride a month ago after not riding for 40 years. I fell in love!

Only have a moment now, but I'll add more later from the "newbie" point of view. I will tell you that my thumbs are sore from the times I forgot to relax my "death grip.". :^}

Thanks for all the info you folks get out via this forum, and I'll see you soon.

Regards-
Frank.

:congrats: :welcome:
Looks like a great day to Ryde! Where did you get it, if you don't mind me asking?

Wow, what a welcome!

Thanks, everyone, for making me feel so welcome here at SpyderLovers...

To answer the questions, I bought my RT-S at Blackman's in Emmaus, PA (near Allentown). They treated me really well and made sure to explain what I needed to know before I hit the road. I bought an open face helmet and the travel cover along with the Spyder. I'm looking for a bluetooth addition for that, as well as a GPS mount. Any suggestions on either would be appreciated.

I have about 30 minutes of riding in the last 40 years, so I didn't want to just hop right on I78/I81 and head back to Harrisburg, so I took US222 to Reading, US422 back to Hershey, and then PA39 to my house. It was a 2+ hour ride with my daughter trailing behind in the "chase car" and although I did hop off twice on the way home for a few minutes, that RT seat is just a comfortable as my recliner at home!

My daughter, who actually lives in Nashville, was home because my wife of 34 years passed away a few weeks ago after a 2-1/2 year battle with cancer. She went with me when I test rode the RT-S in early May, and even gave me permission to buy it! The only vehicle she would ever consider buying had to be fire-engine red, so I know she'd be pleased with my Viper Red RT-S.

So, that's my story to date... I'll be adding more soon. No rain for the next few days... time to stretch my 8 legs!

Regards-
Frank.
