• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

New Spyder

I was afraid you were gonna say that and this is all I'm gonna say, I'm not surprised you are having an issue. nojoke Some of my past posts explains the issues I had with them.

I'm sorry you had problems. I know some of them can be very frustrating.

We have purchased 4 bikes from them.

This one. They test rode before I took it. I rode it around before taking it. I was happy with it.

I have a problem. They came and got it.

I will ryde again!!

Good luck with your new Spyder

Love the yellow. I would ask the Dealer if the battery in it was the one it was shipped with. if it is I would ask for a new one. The battery has been setting for over a year in the Spyder already. the tech that took care of mine the last time told me that 1 to 2 years on a mortorcycle type battery is about all you get. and if they are not being used it is hard on the battery. just a suggestion. I could be full of it. Darn sure don't know much about these.
:2thumbs::congrats:

Actually, they did put a brand new battery in it! Thanks!

As much as I hate to say it .... But I think one of your mods may be the culprit....... Of particular interest would be your hids.

I am believing that is the culprit as well. I think the originals will go in. They went ahead and put the new DPS in today as well.

Boy, I really did like those HIDs. I drive to work at night on a very dark road. They were soooo bright it was awesome.

I thought he was out of the spyder business??

X-Joe

These are the 2 most used words that are usually followed by the phrase, "I'm sorry"..... So see gang, it never pays to think! :roflblack::joke::roflblack::joke:

And when all else fails > :shemademe_smilie:

What made you suspect the HIDs? :dontknow:

There are certain HID ballasts that put out higher levels of EMF that have a negative effect on the electrical system of the Spyder. I assume that Firefly knew she had the HID set up on her old Spyder, and then transferred them to her new one. The BRP HIDs, and the ESI Cycle Products ones, are known to work without any issues, while others can be suspect.

Various HID ballasts have caused similar intermittent problems on Spyders----- Most have had great luck with units from ESI.......

WOW!! All I can say is this has been a very good lesson learned. Also, the tech's who work on these have learned alot as well with this!

So, the future Spyderlover's wanting HID lighting from TED's will get alot more information on the subject.

Hopefully, new Spyderlover's will research the HID's that they purchase and make the better choice!

Thank you so much fellow Spyderlovers!!! I think this has been another win, win thread.

:2thumbs::2thumbs::D:D thank you friends :thumbup::thumbup: nojoke

Go to radio shack and get a 12 power filter the cb and ham guys use them on their radios
Put it inline with positive lead to the ballast
