• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

New Spyder RT SM5

I was a Spyder owner of a 08 RS M5 and traded it for a RT SM5, I can agree on the different handling feel between the two.
I have played with the suspension and have the front set at the highest setting. I have the mid line RT with the manual adjusted air bag. I have it set at 45 PSI and with my wife and I riding it seems to be good. I run 20 PSI in the front tires and 30 PSI in the rear. Yes there is a bit of a learning curve to this model. In all I am very happy with the RT and its comfort.
The wind and traffic does affect this bike more as many of you have stated because of the size of the RT. Has anyone had any experience with any after market sway bars to help stiffen the body roll?

welcome I think there is a sway bar either in the works or maybe ready to go by now. Check out the sponsers on the Home page too.

I'm a first time Spyder owner, RT-S. Sure is different from two wheels. I foolishly thought there was no lean to it. However the feel is quickly learned. I did not take a test ride before making the purchase. The doctor took me off my bike so I just made an impulse purchase. I am not sorry I did. I don't think I will miss my bike. The Spyder is ready for its 600 mile check up. I've had it for three weeks. My cage doesn't see much action anymore.

As far as the body roll I found that a good set of Elka's up front really change the handling of the RT. I've yet to hear any raving reviews on the swaybar on the RT like you did on the RS/GS. I have an idea why but I won't go into it. I do know for sure good front shocks help.

have the same but SE - my problem was the seat ..my wife was seating too far away from me (had 13.000 mls on our GS-08) and i couldn`t find the right position when driving alone or with some (crazy) biker-friends..
also cutted the shield 2inch left/right/top .. with the wind i have no troubles - the engine is stronger and the wider frontwheels makes it easier for the curves .. but needed more then 1000 mls to find it out..
4000 mls now !! (2month) - no really problem (wait for a rear-shock:gaah:)
so wouldn`t change back:2thumbs:

I know you said you swapped your Elka's from your other Spyder, which Elka's are you ryding on? I looked at their site and they have many different levels of shocks.

What stage shocks did you use on your Spyder? I went to there site and checked them out and found multiple options. Thanks for the info. As I stated in my first post I am on my second Spyder and love it. We put 6,000 miles on the 08 RS in one year and if you know Maine weather it is a long winter. I purchased the RT on June 3rd and we have 1,500 miles.I know not record breaking. I have checked this site for about a year but have never sent a post. It is a great site but as some have pointed out take some it lightly or you would never buy one of these things. Enough rambling on. Any info on the shock question would be great.
