• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

New Spyder Owner

:2thumbs: Hi All, name is Jim. Have had my Spyder for about 5 hours now. I have only ridden from the dealer, a whopping 5 miles. I can already tell that the Spyder and I were made for each other. A brief history. 40 year motorcycle rider. Retired from a Defense Department contractor. I currently own and operate a machine shop that caters to custom bike and hot rod work.
A friend of mine bought a Spyder when they first appeared. I was immediately intrigued with the concept and the engineering. Did I also mention that while of normal ht.(5'10") I have really, really short legs. Coming to a stop, riding two up and most certainly trying to push the bike backward while seated upon it was and is difficult. I traded a truly stellar 1955 Chevy 210 2 dr. post in exchange for the Spyder. A straight across trade was made. I got the Spyder, my friend got a car that is worth significantly more than the purchase price. I have never been so happy about making such a bad financial move. I wanted the Spyder, Hell with it!. Looking forward to meeting and sharing some ideas. I spent a couple months lurking, but did not want to"jinx" the deal. Happy to be here.......Jim

Jim,

Welcome to the Spyder's web of friends. The trade for the car will pale in comparison to the dough you'll drop on the Spyder. But, you'll love every moment and not regret a thing. Good people, here. And, I'm sure you'll discover that there will be more that a few do-dads you'll want to conjure up in your machine shop for your Spyder. Then you'll mention it on this site, then everyone will want one too...welcome

Tripod :ohyea:

Wow!!!! Another Spyder in NM!

Hi Jim, as you know, there are not many of us here, if you ever go North, drop me an email.
I will do the same if I get down to the Space Port.

Tom

Welcome Jim I traded a 2007 H-D for mine a few people told me I was crazy, I could have told them that without the trade. I find myself riding a lot more now that I don't have to hold it up or pay attention to the grade when I park. It will not take long to get used to it. Then to start loving it.

:congrats:welcome
And you own a custom bike and hot rod shop? You're gonna have fun arguing with everyone about what kind of gas to use, what kind of oil is best, getting more power to the :spyder:, wanting to break into the BUDS system. It's alot of fun to watch:2thumbs::doorag:
