• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

New Spyder owner-backrest/luggage rack question

2009 Spyder, gs, with a Smoothspyder backrest. Will the stock back rack plate fit on this bike? I have a back cover that is attached with one screw and comes right off. Looking for some place to put luggage. thanks Jim

It will still work with the backrest you have now. However it will require a frame insert that the back rack should come with (I haven't checked as I have a 2015 which takes the newer stuffs and a different frame insert) that the sport rack base bolts to.

It isn't a difficult install, even with the frame insert... I've heard the hardest part is running the release cable/pull knob under the seat. Here's a video from youtube on how to install it. While this video finishes up with him adding the backrest, you'd simply snap on the luggage rack instead, so the install would be the same:
