There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. New Spyder - leaking

Hey guys.

I wandered through the forum last nite, and I know I saw somewhere where a woman was talking about her new spyder having a leak, and someone posted it was a known issue, and there were certain vin numbers affected. I can't seem to FIND that post now, and my husband wants to read it. My brand new baby arrived home after the first hour drive home, and lo and behold, the leak had already begun. My husband and neighbors searched around and weren't sure if it was oil, brake fluid, or power steering fluid. I read here that it was a known issue in previous bikes, and not being able to find it is making me go nuts. :opps:

Our bike is at the hospital....err repair shop, and the guy who normally works on them is on vacation until Tuesday. But maybe if we can tell them what's up, we can get someone to take a peek.

Also one other weird thing.

The glove box.

We locked the glovebox and wheels after our 2nd ride, only to find the glove box had popped open instead of locking, and now the lock will not open. This means the glovebox is always open because it cannot close and catch in the locking mechanism. Any ideas how to fix that?

It's not power steering fluid... (unless somebody kicked over a can of it nearby...)
Pop your seat up: the brake reservoirs are at about the rearmost place up under it... You bike has sensors that would tell you if you were running low on the juice...
What color IS the fluid? The oil that keeps the engine running would be pretty easy to spot... Depending on the mileage on your bike; it'd be anywhere from light brown, to black...
Coolant is more watery, and probably green...

it's a brown, pretty sure it's oil. Definitely not greenish. In fact, my husband at first thought it was clear and odorless, but it's leaking just around the area of the front of the seat, I'd say. He would know more, but I know I read something about this here, and now can't find it.

Oh thank you! Yes, it's the RT-S, SE6. Bright yellow (hubby wanted to make sure I was seen, I guess). LOL And thank you - that's not the post, but is about the same subject! Thanks!

Little checking..!!

some of the new RT's had a problem with a case bolt causing leaks. They should have been fixed but not to say it could have been missed. If you could see where it is coming from you would know..now if your spyder is in the shop they will know this. Oil leaking from other places would be air box if overfilled with oil and water pump (unlikely). They should have you going quickly if its a good shop...
