• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

New Spyder in PA

Hi all,

I just picked up an 09 SE5 Spyder for my wife about a week ago. She really likes it but wants to change some things to make it more comfortable. We are looking at bar risers or the Handlebars from Kewlmetal. We were also considering a new seat, either a Corbin or the comfort seat.

I know these are things that each person will have their own preference but I was hoping someone could share their opinions on these. I am just trying to avoid having to go through a lot of tries to get it right. My wife is very petite and only 5'0" tall so any opinions from other ladies would extremely helpful.

I added the risers to my 09 and it makes the ride alot more comfortable. The only suggestion I have for the seat is for it to be a little bit narrower. I am located in Windber PA

welcome I'm nearly a foot taller than your wife but if she doesn't like the stock windshield you might want to look into a California Scientific. We put one on an 08 GS and it made a world of difference in comfort at highway speed.

:congrats: welcome I installed the 3 inch spyder city block to bring the bars up and a corbin seat and love them both.

welcome

Risers and seats are very personal upgrade choices to make. Not everything works for everyone. Before making a decision, it might help for you to find other Spyder owners in your area to get together with, or go to an event. Then you can sit on other Spyders that have some of these mods, and see what fits your wife the best. My wife's Spyder has the ESI Risers on it, and she loves them. I just have the 1" BRP riser block, and am very happy with it.

My wife had similar issues that needed to be addressed, to make her SM5 more comfortable.

Risers, and Corbin seat seem to have made a big difference. Also, as others have mentioned, if your Spyder has the little stock windshield, changing that out for something else will help with the high speed buffeting.
