• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

New Sena 20S

New technology over the old can be amazing. This Sena 20 sounds, pardon the pun, like quite the set up.

For those with the old fashioned Sena 10 I saw this You Tube video of a guy installing cheap headphone speakers in place of the Sena speakers. I grant you those speakers in a modular helmet doesn't perform outstanding with the wind noise. Wonder how the new setup performs?

But do any of the uclear devices work with the BRP Bluetooth module on the bike which is made by Sena?
I haven't tried it, but I don't see why not. That's the whole reason to use bluetooth instead of something proprietary.

Not trying to hijack the thread, Sena's are all very well respected, high quality comm units and the new one sure packs the features in.

I just hate having a boom in my face.

Interesting that they can do it to interface their camera with other intercoms, but they won't do it to let their intercom users interface with riders using other intercom vendors.

Features:

  • Universal intercom - intercom with other brand headsets

Ooops.. :opps:

I kind of missed that line in the specs... To me its THE feature of that new product. If they start outselling other vendors because of this feature, we may finally start seeing a lot more cross-compatibility soon.:thumbup::thumbup:

From the article posted:
"The 20S will be available for ordering at the end of 2013 with pricing yet to be determined and shipping will begin at the start of 2014."
Oh well, not going to wait til next year to get Bluetooth head sets. Too bad they are going to miss the Christmas season completely.

I wouldn't sweat it to much. If sena holds true to form with what they have done in the past, you'll have the same functionality in an existing sena headset as the new ones with only a software upgrade.

Yes if you register your SENA product(s) on their support site they will email you when a firmware update is available.

I'm new to BT, having done all my riding on wired Goldwings. Will the 20S be able to pair to a phone, a Zumo, a passenger, and a rider on another bike - all at the same time?

My wife and I are looking at a new communication set. We had the Scala G4 but they would cut out at the worst times and take a lot to restart them. They were just a real pain. How are the Sena's? Do they ever cut out when you are talking? We are on separate bikes and I usually have my wife riding in front and I need to give her directions when we travel. She is still learning and I don't want her to just follow me but learn to be on her own. We are looking at the 10's since we would never utilize all the features of the 20's. We just want to be able to talk to each other. We don't talk on the phone, use GPS or anything like that.

Mounting Question

Anyone know if the 20S will work with previous (SMH10) mounts? I use the universal mike since I have a full face Shoei. The website looks like the 20 only has the fixed boom.
